Donald Trump’s penchant for fast food is back in the spotlight, with the unique way he chows down on pizza taking centre stage once more.
The US President, who celebrated his 80th birthday last weekend, has some seriously bizarre eating habits: embarking on long fasts, drinking gallons of fizzy pop, and having hot McDonald’s fries waiting for him on Air Force One.
In a 2010 interview, the politician detailed the exact way that he likes to tackle a piece of pie.
And despite the confession, the father-of-five has previously been caught on video eating it ‘the normal way’ on a number of occasions.

In 1995, he appeared in a Pizza Hut advert with his late first wife, Ivana Trump, whom he was married to between 1977 and 1990.
During the clip, promoting the fast-food titan’s stuffed crust, the US leader took a bite out of the crust first.

Meanwhile, The Takeout reported that in 2023, he was caught eating a slice at a Miami restaurant in the standard fashion after giving a speech at the Lee County Republican Party’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner.
The twice-impeached Republican took a bite out of a pepperoni pizza before asking supporters: “Does anybody want a piece that I’ve eaten?”
Despite these instances, the father-of-five has claimed that he doesn't eat pizza the 'normal way' on a number of occasions.
According to US Weekly, Trump apparently tends to grab a slice, and instead of taking a bite as it is, he likes to scrape off the toppings to eat separately.
However, he claimed he ‘never’ eats the dough - a fact backed up in another interview with Time Magazine.
He said that he avoids the crust and eats his pizza with a knife and fork to ‘keep the weight down at least as good as possible’.

And it's not just pizza that he is into.
Mashed said that when attending a 2024 football match against Alabama and Georgia, he requested tailgating fare in the form of Domino's Pizza, McDonald's Filet-o-Fish, stadium hot dogs, and Diet Coke.
Trump’s love affair with the fishy McDonald’s staple and junk food in general runs deep - much to the horror of his Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Last year, the Republican used his appearance at the McDonald's Impact Summit to urge bosses to put more tartar sauce on the sandwich.
“You could do a little bit more tartar sauce, though, please. Seriously,” he said, as per Fox News.
In 2026, the President treated the gold medal-winning Men’s US Ice Hockey team to a McDonald’s buffet at the White House, and took part in a DoorDash delivery gimmick he later described as ‘tacky’.
RFK Jr. previously claimed on The Katie Miller Podcast that he doesn’t know how Trump is ‘alive’ with the sheer amount of fast-food he consumes.”

"The interesting thing about the president is he eats really bad food, which is McDonald's and candy and Diet Coke. He drinks Diet Coke at all times. He has the constitution of a deity. I don't know how he's alive, but he is,” the environmental lawyer stated.
Back in 2017, a book by two of Trump's former aides called Let Trump Be Trump revealed that there were 'four major food groups' on Trump Force One: 'McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza, and Diet Coke.'
