Pringles has changed the game in time for National Hot Dog Day with a limited-edition item, crowned the ‘first of its kind’. Here’s everything you need to know, including how you can be one of the first to get your hands on it.

Snacks have been having a tough time recently, what with KP announcing its own-brand crisps and certain packs of Tyrell’s having been put on the chopping block in Britain. Gentleman’s Relish came to an abrupt halt due to diminishing sales, and two M&M’s colours were temporarily cut from packs in the US amid Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) tirade.

But with the bad comes the good: McDonald’s welcomed back a cult dessert after more than three decades off menus; Burger King resurrected its cult crown-shaped nuggets; and Pringles finally reintroduced snack pots in the UK, perfect for office lunches or grab-and-go moments.

Those residing Stateside haven’t been forgotten by Pringles, with the brand announcing its going big for National Hot Dog Day on 15 July.

Designed to commemorate the iconic American savoury delight, National Hot Dog Day this year is being led by a new Pringles product: 7.5-inch buns packaged in Pringles cans, and seasoned with some of the company’s most iconic flavours.

People Magazine reported that the ‘pop dog buns’ have been engineered to ‘take the most overlooked part of the hot dog and turn it into the star of the show’.

“Inspired by the global love for the hot dog – from the bacon wrapped sonoran to the chip topped perro caliente – this glizzy glow-up from Pringles turns the boring bun into top dog,” the business said in a press release.

The pop dog buns will come in three varieties, with the first being Sour Cream & Onion.

Pringles claim the offering offers ‘all the tangy, savoury, and creamy flavours fans know and love’, while its second offering, seasoned with sweet BBQ, ‘is a little smoky with a touch of sweetness’.

The final flavour to join the exclusive pop dog bun line-up is Honey Mustard. This ‘combines the sweetness of honey with the tang of mustard’, as per the snacking heroes.

Excitingly, US-dwellers can pick up the moreish bread for free. All you need to do is purchase a Pringles three-pack of crisps for $6.97 on OnceYouPopMarket.com and Pringles’ Instagram and Facebook Shops, while supplies last.

Once you’re signed up, you will be alerted when the pop dog buns go live on July 8 and 15 at 12pm ET.

But be aware, they are here for a good time and not a long time. So if you want them, you should act sooner rather than later.
