The final episode of Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date will air in theatres across the globe next month. The release will debut as a one-off ‘cinematic experience’ before the conclusion of the comedy programme launches on YouTube, according to an official press release.
In early September, 32-year-old Dimoldenberg broke hearts by revealing it was time to ‘move on’ from her YouTube series, Chicken Shop Date, after 12 years at the helm.
“To me the show is my very own romcom and I have loved creating so many stories for you to watch. I am so grateful to everyone who has followed me on this journey and found some joy in these episodes,” she wrote in an emotional Instagram post.
“I never thought I’d stop Chicken Shop Date, I thought maybe it would be a part of me forever, and in some way it always will, but I feel like it’s now time to move on from this adventure and onto a new one.

“But before I say goodbye forever, I want to celebrate everything Chicken Shop Date has been for me with a few final dates…coming very soon.”
The final season of Chicken Shop Date has already started dropping, with episodes featuring Role Model, Jorja Smith and Noel Gallagher going viral.
Excitingly, Dimoldenberg has announced she will be holding a one-night-only event on 24 November at cinemas in the UK, Ireland and Paris to commemorate the final episode of her show.
The event, described as the ultimate ‘cinematic experience ’, will air all six episodes of the final series with exclusive new material.
It will also offer a ‘personal look behind the series, exploring Amelia’s relationship with the show and her decision to bring it to an end’.
“Moving between comedy, nostalgia and candid reflection, the film is both a celebration of everything Chicken Shop Datehas become and a fitting farewell to one of the internet’s most recognisable formats.”

The screening will culminate with the final unreleased episode, giving fans a chance to see it before it drops on YouTube on 27 November, as per Variety.
Public screenings will take place in Brighton, London, Paris, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham and Dublin.
These showings will be preceded by invite-only premieres in London on 16 November and New York City on 17 November, where Dimoldenberg will also participate in Q&As, the publication reported.
Announcing the event on social media, the creative wrote: “Chicken Shop Date: The Final Series is coming to CINEMAS.
“For ONE NIGHT ONLY, you’ll be able to watch the complete final series brought together as one film, alongside exclusive behind the scenes and more. Plus, you’ll see the final episode before it’s out anywhere else!”

She continued: “It’s a celebration of everything the show has meant to me, and one final chance to experience it together on the big screen.”
Fans have been busy speculating who would round off the season, with one social media user writing: “Amelia blink twice if it’s Harry Styles.”
“She knows it’s gotta be One Directions right,” said someone else.
A third remarked: “What if she got to interview Beyoncé and that’s the final episode.”
“If it’s Taylor Swift I’ll go but lowkey this is not a cinema thing lol,” another said.
A fifth agreed: “The only person this could be is Taylor Swift, no one and I mean no one is going to the cinema to watch a 2 min interview for anyone else lmao.”
