Pepperidge Farm is setting up shop for the holidays with its new range of sourdough cookies available in three unique flavours.
Statistics provided by Puratos suggest sourdough is the number one bakery trend of 2026—and Taylor Swift can probably rest easy knowing she’s part of the success.
Last August, the ‘Bad Blood’ icon appeared as a special guest on an episode of the New Heights podcast where she revealed she’d become obsessed with baking sourdough bread, thinking about the edible item about ‘60 percent of the time’.
Pepperidge Farm has now firmly bought into the trend, releasing three festive flavours of sourdough cookie in time for Christmas.

These are Dark Chocolate Sourdough with Brown Butter, featuring chunks of dark chocolate; Cinnamon Sugar Sourdough with Vanilla Bean, plus bits of pearl sugar for a small crunch; and White Chocolate Sourdough with Raspberry, made with white chocolate chips and dried raspberry pieces.

Anyone who wants to try the sourdough cookies can pick up a pack of eight from Walmart for $5.89.
Don’t live near a supermarket? Don’t worry, the permanent Pepperidge Farm product will be available to purchase from other grocery stores, including Kroger and Target, plus Amazon, starting in January 2027.
‘These sound so good’
Fans have been having their say on the sweet treat, with one Instagram user typing: “Sourdough cookies?! My toxic trait is thinking I can buy these for the kids and not eat the whole bag myself.”
A second commented: “I hope they are as good as Maggie’s apple pie cookies.”
“These sound so good!,” someone else remarked.
A fourth added: “I never like sourdough bread, but now cookies? I'd hesitantly give the chocolate ones a try.”
Espresso Martini Milanos revealed
The new sourdough cookie announcement comes just weeks after Pepperidge Farm released Espresso Martini-inspired Milanos for the holidays.

Retailing at $5.89 per bag, the festive treat balances a bold espresso flavour with a moreish chocolate filling and a touch of vanilla between two crispy Milano cookies.
“The holidays are all about finding little ways to make everyday moments feel special, and that’s exactly what inspired Milano Espresso Martini. We took a beloved flavour and gave it the distinctive Milano touch, creating an elevated, coffee-forward treat that feels both unexpected and familiar,” the brand said.
The Milano Espresso Martini flavour is now available to purchase alongside comeback kings: Milano Slices Peppermint, Chessmen Holiday Nog and Linzer Raspberry.
Lay’s festive flavours released

Anyone who wants to get their hands on the Christmas staples should act fast, though, as all are available nationwide for a limited time.
If you’re looking for more holiday-inspired treats, Lay’s recently announced that a selection of festive crisps is heading to supermarket shelves.
The range includes Roasted Holiday Turkey, Cheddar Scalloped-Style Potatoes, Maple Bacon, Wavy Milk Chocolate and Wavy Dubai-Style Dark Chocolate.
"The holidays are all about gathering around the table with friends and family, and food plays an important role in those celebrations,” the company announced.
