Inside Jelly Roll's 300lb weight loss as he files for divorce from Bunnie Xo

Jelly Roll has called time on his marriage to Bunnie Xo, with court records showing the ‘Wild Ones’ singer filed for divorce late last month (18 May). It comes amid the star’s ongoing weight-loss efforts, which have included changing up his daily diet and closely working with health professionals.
After almost 10 years of marriage, the 41-year-old celebrity, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has split from his wife, Alisa DeFord, 46, whom he met in Las Vegas back in 2015.
Despite only renewing their wedding vows in 2023, Jelly Roll submitted a filing in Williamson County, Tennessee, requesting he and Bunnie Xo - a podcaster and stepmother to her estranged husband’s two children, Bailee, 18, and Noah, nine - divorce.

Neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie Xo has publicly commented on the break-up; the former OnlyFans model did take to Instagram to share she was ‘getting her sparkle back’.
Meanwhile, the WWE star, who most recently appeared at WrestleMania 42, has removed his former romantic partner’s name from his social media bio.
The news comes amid Jelly Roll’s continuous weight-loss efforts, which have seen him drop almost 300lbs since 2022.
The US native, who achieved his dream of appearing on the front cover of Men’s Health Magazine earlier this year, previously admitted to being addicted to food.
In order to lose weight, he decided to face his demons head on an employ a therapist.
“Even before I got into getting my blood work done, I went and got mental health therapy about my overeating. I started treating my food addiction like what it was: an addiction,” he explained to the publication.
“Once I started treating food like an addiction, it started changing everything for me. When I started really looking at the source of why I was eating. What was I eating for?”
Instead of losing weight, Jelly Roll focused on ‘getting healthy’, working with his therapist in addition to a team of medical experts and private chef, Ian Larios.
Under Larios’ guidance, Jelly Roll has dramatically overhauled his diet to reduce his insulin and cholesterol levels.
“There is no bad food in our plan, but if you eat too much of any food, it could be bad,” the nutritionist said.
“You can overconsume good calories, too. So it was just creating thought patterns for him where it’s like, ‘Let’s create good habits with good food and go from there and move our bodies.’ That was step one.”
Nowadays, a day on his plate includes a healthy breakfast option, one which combines bell peppers, chicken sausage, potatoes and sauerkraut. It mimics the ‘All My Life’ hitmaker’s favourite Waffle House item, ‘Double Hash Browns’.
Lunch and dinner is likely to consist of protein and carbohydrates, while sweet treats, such as peanut butter cookie dough bites and sliced banana, are also on the menu.
As well as tackling his food addiction and straightening out his diet, Jelly Roll has taken up running. In 2024, he trained for and completed a 5K race.
His efforts also include lifting weights and getting into a wrestling ring.
Earlier this year, the four-time Grammy-nominated icon successfully won his first solo wrestling bout against Kit Wilson.
At SummerSlam 2025, he teamed with Randy Orton to face Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.
During a spot on WWE Unreal, he added that his body was ‘mad’ at him when he first started training in the ring.
Previously, Dumb Blonde founder Bunnie Xo - who married Jelly Roll in 2016 - said the country music favourite’s manhood had ‘grown’ since he began his weight management journey.
“He’s got a little strut in his step, and I think it’s just the cutest thing. He deserves to have a hot streak. I'm ready for him to just feel his best,” she explained during a February appearance on the The Howard Stern Show.
“I will tell you that it is very true that when a man loses weight, it grows a lot.

He says he ‘did a lot of work to repair that relationship’ on the Human School podcast. They rekindle their relationship later that year.
