Jelly Roll has admitted he’s been ‘stress eating’ in the midst of his divorce from Bunnie Xo, saying a cheat meal can easily turn into a ‘five-day food bender’.
On 18 May, the country star, 41, filed to split from his estranged wife, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, 46, in Williamson County, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’, as per court documents seen by People Magazine.
Since then, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has been struggling to stick to the diet that has helped him lose almost 300lbs so far.
“I’ve been overeating the last three or four days,” the WWE star told influencer Salvatore Reedus in a candid YouTubevideo titled ‘My Advice For Losing Weight’.

“I was feeling myself stress-eating and then, what else happened was the addict in me came out.”

According to the ‘Need a Favor’ hitmaker, a ‘dairy-free skillet cookie’ that was offered to him at a concert was a major binge trigger.
“I don’t eat nothing like that. I’m like a drug addict. You can’t eat that ‘cause if I ate one, I’ll eat two. I’ll eat four.
“So later that night, I’m at the taco truck getting a peanut butter fluff. Next thing I know, we’re at the rest stop, I’m looking for a chocolate bar.”
The ‘Son of a Sinner’ singer, who is a self-confessed food addict, admitted he consumed an extra 2,000 calories that he ‘didn’t see coming’.
Jelly Roll said that going off his meal plan was akin to a feeding frenzy, claiming it was like a shark getting ‘the taste of blood’.
“Now it’s going to take me a whole another week to get that [taste] completely out of my mouth.

“I can’t have one anything. I’m like that with alcohol … I’ve never had a shot. I’ve never done a line of cocaine. I’ve never smoked a joint. You know what I mean?
“Either we’re smoking all day, we’re drinking all night, we’re doing coke. That’s how it’s working for me.”
The three-time Grammy winner continued, claiming people often try to get him off of his strict meal plan, which includes a Waffle House dupe created by his nutritionist, Ian Larios.
“I was like, ‘You can have one for a cheat meal.’ I can’t,” he said, adding that one cheat meal for him can easily turn into a ‘five-day food bender’.
But, as he explained to Reedus: “Give yourself grace on those days you eat four skillet cookies. I’m still doing it …those are the days you got to give yourself grace. The problem is it starts compounding in the days.”
“It’s okay to have a bad meal. It’s okay to have a bad day,” he said. “Don’t beat yourself up about it ... don’t punish yourself for it.”
Since embarking on his weight loss journey, the father-of-two has dropped a whopping 300lbs by following a diet to reduce insulin and cholesterol levels.
“There is no bad food in our plan, but if you eat too much of any food, it could be bad,” said chef Larios.
“You can overconsume good calories, too. So it was just creating thought patterns for him where it’s like, ‘Let’s create good habits with good food and go from there and move our bodies.’ That was step one.”
Since working with the expert, Jelly Roll is likely to eat bell peppers, chicken sausage, potatoes and sauerkraut for breakfast, while lunch and dinner consist of protein and carbohydrates.
A staple is ‘protein poutine’, made with homemade fries, chicken thighs, and cashew cheese curds.
In the way of sweet treats, he enjoys peanut butter cookie dough bites and sliced banana.

Jelly Roll has been candid about his GLP-1 usage in the past, claiming he used the medications for two weeks before ditching them to focus on tackling his food addiction instead.
“I want to be very clear that I've done it naturally, but it wasn't out of stubbornness or trying to prove a point,” he claimed on his ex-wife’s podcast.
“If it helps you, go get it. But for me, I was just petrified of the side effects of it.”
