The protein-rich diet that Jelly Roll has credited with helping him lose a whopping 200lbs has been revealed as the country music icon confessed his next career ‘goal’.

‘Son of a Sinner’ singer Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has gone from strength to strength in recent years. He completed a stint in WWE, appeared in Tulsa King with Sylvester Stallone, and released his 10th studio album, Beautifully Broken, in October 2024.

As well as rising in the music ranks and collaborating with Shaboozey and Marshmello - among other artists - the 40-year-old has been on a lifestyle overhaul since 2022, shedding a major amount of weight.

Jelly Roll recently turned heads upon his arrival at Sydney airport ahead of his first-ever Australian headline tour dates.

The US native looked almost unrecognisable, wearing an oversized black hoodie and matching sweatpants, with a Tennessee Titans cap and black trainers.

Previously weighing 550lbs at his heaviest, the father-of-two has employed trainers and nutritionists to help him get in shape.

He also confirmed his transformation isn’t down to relying on GLP-1 medications, such as Wegovy or Mounjaro.

Speaking to his wife Bunnie XO on her Dumb Blonde podcast, Jelly Roll claimed: “I want to be very clear that I've done it naturally, but it wasn't out of stubbornness or trying to prove a point.

“If it helps you, go get it. But for me, I was just petrified of the side effects of it."

In April, Jelly Roll detailed what food he was eating on a daily basis.

The diet, created by nutrition coach, Ian Lairos, consisted of a healthy breakfast bowl made with bell peppers, chicken sausage, potatoes and sauerkraut, as reported by Hello!.

The breakfast dish would be followed by a sweet treat such as peanut butter cookie dough bites and sliced banana.

Lunch and dinner would consist of some form of protein, including Lairos’ special ‘protein poutine’, with homemade fries, chicken thighs, and cashew cheese curds.

As Jelly Roll continues his health kick, the star has admitted he wants to front the cover of Men’s Health magazine by March 2026.

“That's my new goal. I wanna have one of the biggest transformations."

On the Dumb Blonde podcast, the ‘Wild Ones’ favourite said he wants other people to realise they don’t have to lose weight to become successful.

“What I want the world to know, and I want people to see…is that I didn't become successful because of my weight. I became successful in spite of it.
