Before finally hitting the big 6-0, Halle Berry said she felt ‘really good’ about the milestone moment, confessing that she is currently experiencing the ‘best time’ of her life.
“I’ve called this period 'my greatest act' and I really do believe that,” the X-Men favourite stated. “Being an actor, an entrepreneur and a woman at this age and getting to do what I’m truly passionate about is incredibly fulfilling. So I’m not afraid of getting older; I’m just excited about what comes next.”
The mother of two, who is celebrating her birthday today (14 August) with a set of saucy snaps, also recently took to Instagram to admit she’s ‘never felt better, mind, body, and spirit’.
“Time is a construct and age is just a number, so who cares?,” she added.

Berry has been candid about her health and lifestyle over the years, admitting she recently quit the keto diet after three decades to navigate the menopause and keep her energy levels high.
How menopause kicked Halle Berry off keto diet
On an episode of Vogue’s The Run-Through podcast, the Oscar winner said that hitting the menopause was the reason why she finally ditched the low-carb keto diet.
Having famously adopted keto in the early 90s to manage her diabetes, she abstained from baked goods, white bread, all processed carbs and sugar.
Instead, fish, lean meats and healthy fats, including nuts and seeds, were prioritised.
“For more than 15 years, eating this way has helped me manage my diabetes — but it’s also given me a ton of energy and helped me maintain my weight and stay in shape,” she explained to Women’s Health in 2020.

However, ‘everything changed’ when she was told she was in menopause. The diagnosis came after a doctor previously chalked her symptoms up to herpes.
“Everything has changed the way I do my life,” she said on the podcast. “I need a little carbs.”
Instead of gorging on fast-food, Berry tries to get most of her carbohydrates through vegetable consumption.
Rice also supports her body and strength training during menopause, as per EatingWell.
Morning fasts are a staple
When she was still on the keto diet, the Catwoman legend explained that she favoured a Bulletproof coffee over food in the morning.
The caffeine hit contained collagen, butter and MCT oil.
“I sip on my frothy drink throughout the morning and love that the fat in it fuels my body and that it gives me a steady stream of caffeine and energy to start the day with,” she said to Women’s Health.

It’s not known if Berry still fasts in the morning, with studies suggesting it may be beneficial for heart health, diabetes, and weight loss.
However, some evidence indicates it may negatively affect reproductive organs and come with side effects, such as mood swings, reduced energy, and headaches.
Supplements Halle Berry takes
A firm fan of magnesium and pepties, Berry recently added creatine into her diet, claiming it helps her avoid brain fog.
“‘I thought I would never take creatine – that’s going to blow me up – but no… girl needs that,” she said on the Vogue podcast.
As well as minimising brain fog, creatine can protect against cognitive decline by boosting the brain’s natural energy supply.

Previous studies have also suggested that it may reduce your risk of developing certain cancers and help build a stronger immune system.
But be warned, as experts have previously revealed, creatine can cause debilitating headaches.
It may be worth checking in with your health provider before adding Berry’s go-to into your daily routine.
Halle Berry occasionally consumes alcohol
While famous faces like Tom Holland choose to abstain from alcohol, Berry, like Jennifer Lopez and Brad Pitt, chooses to embrace booze and incorporate it ‘consciously’ into her diet.
In 2024, the Monster Ball icon claimed that guzzling ‘copious amounts of red wine’ was her guilty pleasure.

“[It’s a] gift to myself because we all need those,” she said.
Red wine is her tipple of choice
Red wine, which contains plant compounds called polyphenols, is hailed as the ‘healthiest’ booze by Berry, who told Harper’s Bazaar in 2023: “Its usually low in sugar and has less sulfites. And if you’re drinking wine for heart health, which I do, having a glass of red wine a day can be good.
“Heart disease actually runs in my family, so my cardiologist is always reminding me about that.”
A study commissioned by the British Heart Foundation claims that the risks of alcohol consumption on heart and circulatory diseases outweighs the benefits and that drinking more than the recommended limits will have a negative effect on your health.
Updated US dietary guidelines do not stipulate how much alcohol women should drink, but rather that they should consume it in small doses for ‘better overall health’.
However, the World Health Organization (WHO) has suggested that there is ‘no safe’ amount that does not affect health.
