A beloved ice cream parlour has brought back its Ted Lasso-inspired ice cream flavour ahead of the hit Apple TV show’s fourth outing, but you'll have to act fast if you want to get your mitts on a pint.

On 5 August, AFC Richmond finally returns, and this time, coach Ted Lasso (played by Jason Sudeikis) is taking on a new challenge: a second division women’s football team.

While the Emmy-winning show is keeping its cards close to its chest, an official synopsis has revealed that the American football manager and his team will spend the season ‘learning to leap before they look and taking chances they never thought they would’.

In honour of the Ted Lasso series four, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is set to re-release its limited-edition flavour inspired by the hit programme.

On 21 July, frozen treat fans and Ted Lasso deciples will be able to pick up tubs of Biscuits with the Boss.

The flavour, inspired by the biccy’s Lasso made for his boss, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), features crumbly shortbread cookie pieces folded into salted butter sweet cream ice cream.

It’s a ‘pep talk in a pint’, according to the Columbus-based company, which first debuted the item in 2023.

Jeni’s Biscuits with the Boss ice cream will be available at all Jeni’s Ice Creams scoop shops nationwide, while pints will be dressed in a design that mimics the protagonist’s AFC Richmond zip-up.

The latter will be available to purchase online from. You can also pick up the pints in select retail stores across the United States.

Fans are seemingly excited, taking to Reddit to have their say

“To anyone that hasn't tried Jeni's yet...do it! You will not regret it,” replied one fan.

A second said: “My hometown of Columbus, Ohio and Ted Lasso together!? What could be better!”

“This is in my Wegmans right now,” another claimed. “Not sure how I’d like it though. Salted butter sweet cream does sound pretty good.”

Meanwhile, someone else said on X: Never heard of Jeni’s ice cream until today. Are y’all about to influence me to spend $9 on a pint of ice cream!?”

The first episode of Ted Lasso series four lands on Apple TV on 5 August, followed by one new episode every Wednesday until the finale on 7 October.

Viral ‘watermelon ice cream’ trend

If you can’t wait to get your Jeni’s fix, then why not try and DIY some ice cream from home?

Right now, the two-ingredient ‘watermelon ice cream’ is trending across social media - and it’s super simple to make without breaking the bank.

Good Morning America reported that the most popular technique online is to scoop out half of a watermelon segment so that it resembles a bowl.

Freeze the watermelon overnight before slowly pouring in milk or double cream (heavy cream if you live in the United States).

Using a spoon, scrape out the frozen fruit flesh and mix it directly with the milk. This motion will create a creamy consistency, and you should come out of the motion with a no-churn, watermelon-flavoured frozen treat with no added sugars or nasty preservatives.

If you fancy a dairy-free treat, then some social media content creators have been substituting cream for almond milk. Meanwhile, Lifeway has used kefir in its version!
