A popular American dairy brand is recalling pints of its organic ice cream due to possible contamination, with 17 states impacted by the voluntary move.
Last week (14 May), California-based company, Straus Family Creamery, announced it was working with retailers to remove a ‘small number’ of its Organic Super Premium Ice Cream from the frozen section due to the ‘potential presence of metal foreign material’.
“Food safety and product quality remain top priorities for Straus Family Creamery. The company is taking this action out of an abundance of caution and has implemented appropriate corrective actions," Straus Family Creamery said in a press release.
The impacted lots were sold from 4 May across various, unnamed retailers in 17 states, the business noted.
