Before most people have even silenced their alarm, Mark Wahlberg is already deep into a routine that has become as famous as his film roles.
The movie star of The Italian Job, Ted, and The Other Guys has long been associated with punishingly early mornings, a schedule that starts when the rest of the world is asleep and demands discipline long before daylight.
Social media has offered glimpses of this lifestyle for years, showing dark gyms, sweat-soaked workouts, and a mindset that leaves little room for excuses.
Wahlberg has never pretended it is easy. In fact, he has openly admitted that the temptation to stay in bed is real, even for someone as committed as he is.

Explaining to People, he has said of those moments when the alarm goes off: “I feel it more often than you think.”
Still, he pushes through, explaining that once he commits to his routine, there is no halfway effort: “So I just go and I do the work.”

That work often begins at 4am, followed by recovery rituals designed to jolt him fully awake. Cold plunges play their part, flipping the mental switch from groggy to focused.

“I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m awake, I’m alive.’ We’re a go right after that,” he said, describing the moment his day truly starts.
After those gruelling early-morning workouts, Wahlberg transitions from the gym to the kitchen, where consistency takes centre stage. Around 7am, he fuels up with a breakfast that rarely changes, something he seems to take pride in rather than boredom.
In a recent video filmed in his kitchen for Instagram, the actor walked viewers through the ritual.
“7am, about to have breakfast,” he said, gesturing to his stovetop. Three eggs were already boiling, while nearby sat plates of scrambled eggs mixed with turkey and a serving of salmon. Lemon and blueberries completed the spread. Looking over it all, he summed it up bluntly: “Same s**t, every day.”

This repetition is intentional. Wahlberg has explained that he eats the same breakfast daily because it works for him.
He wrote alongside the clip: “I eat the same breakfast every day but I feel better every day!!”
As he sat down to eat, he added: “Same old, same old, every day... wow, look at that beautiful salmon.”
For Wahlberg, the reason he keeps up this consistency is all about the endgame. Cutting corners is not an option, particularly when it comes to the foundations of his routine.

“I don’t want to miss something because if, God forbid, I kind of cut corners, don’t show up, don’t put the work in and I don’t get the results that I want, I know why,” he has said.
“I don’t want to live with that regret.”
