Some McDonald’s fans are seeing dollar signs with four customers bagging a jaw-dropping £10,000 amid the company’s new promotion.
If you’re someone who looks forward to playing McDonald’s Monopoly every autumn and picking up free menu items, then there’s a brand new game that may tide you over in the meantime.
This spring, the fast-food giant is challenging customers to collect unique trading cards featuring McDonald’s heroes such as Grimace and the Hamburgular, as well as iconic food staples, such as the humble Apple Pie.
24 trading cards are available to pick up from participating McDonald’s - but they aren’t exactly for sale.

To get your hands on them and the chance to win mega prizes, including a £10,000 prize fund, a free Medium Meal a week for a year, and an exclusive T-Shirt, you have to purchase the new CARDS Meal.
Meal entreés include a Big Mac, Double Big Mac, Double Big Mac with Bacon, nine McNuggets, nine Spicy McNuggets, or the McPlant.
All of these items come with a side, a drink, and a four-pack of trading cards, with one guaranteed to be an iconic McDonald’s character.

The ‘character card’ unlocks a free food item. For example, pulling out Fry Girl will get you a free portion of fries, while the Birdie earns you a free Single McMuffin.
If you’re one of the ten lucky people to pull a Golden Ronald card, then you will win £10,000.
According to This is Money, two of the holographic heroes have already been discovered in Manchester, one in Norfolk, and the other in Milton Keynes.
That means as of today (2 April), there are only four more Golden Ronald cards in circulation.
Alongside the tidy prize fund and individual free food items, there are six collect-to-win prize categories available.
If you’ve pulled Hamburgular, Fry Scoop, Straw Dispenser and Order 000 cards from your meals, then you can win one of one million free Medium Selected Meals.
Birdie the Early Bird, Can I Take Your Order?, Apple Pie Tree and McDonald’s Multimixer cards earn you one of 40,000 McDonald’s CARDS T-Shirts.
By completing the third set with Grimace, Gherkin Transfer, Coin Spin and McDonaldland, you can take home £50 (50,000 to be won).
If you want £100, then you need to pull out McNugget Buddies, Milkshake Dip, Cheeseburger Chair and Speedee (10,000 to be won).

Anyone who has Phil A. O’Fish, Molten Apple Pie, Big Mac Jingle and Location #1 in their arsenal can cash in and win a free Medium Meal a week for a year (2,000 to be won).
And to snag £1,000 you need to enter Fry Girl, Special Sauce, McDonald’s Pizza and Golden Arches codes into your McDonald’s app.
If you don’t fancy taking part in the CARDS promotion at McDonald’s, then why not try out a Sausage and Egg McGriddle instead?
The cult-favourite breakfast item, which first launched in the US almost 25 years ago, finally landed in the UK last month and is available before 11am.
But be warned, the McGriddle is here for a good time, not a long time, having been marked as a ‘limited’ period product.
