McDonald's fans have been left disappointed this week after the franchise quietly pulled a handful of beloved items from the UK menu, with no warning and no replacement in sight.
The news spread quickly online, with fast food customers tagging friends in apparent disbelief and heading straight to the comments to make their feelings known.

"Nooooo wtf," wrote one commenter, while another kept it short with just ‘Boo.’ One user posted directly at the chain: "So upset @mcdonaldsuk," and another simply typed ‘WHY’ in capitals. It is safe to say people are gutted.

As for what exactly has gone, McDonald's UK has confirmed to Metro that it is removing grilled chicken from the menu entirely, effective from 28 April, with no replacement items being introduced.

That means five products are disappearing in one fell swoop: the Grilled Tikka Chicken Wrap, the Grilled Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap, the Grilled BBQ Chicken and Bacon Wrap, the Grilled Chicken Salad, and the Grilled Chicken and Bacon Salad.
The wraps and salads will still be available, but only with crispy chicken going forward.
A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "As part of our continued menu evolution, we regularly listen to customer feedback and review sales data, and as a result, we've made the decision to remove Grilled Chicken from the menu. This change will help simplify our kitchen processes and allow our restaurant teams to focus on delivering great experiences for customers."
They added: "We understand this may be disappointing for some, but every menu decision is carefully considered, and we look forward to sharing more about our upcoming menu launches in the coming weeks."

The promise of upcoming launches aside, the reaction has been divisive. After the news broke via posts from social media accounts like @uknewestfoods on Instagram, the comments filled up quickly with fans who were not exactly thrilled.
Some went a step further than a simple expression of disappointment. One user wrote: "Well, that's me done with McDonald's."
Trust me, they'll be back...
