Starbucks has confirmed that one of its most iconic American Christmas drinks is finally making its way to the UK, and fans are already rushing to get their hands on it.
With Halloween officially behind us, coffee chains across the country are wasting no time getting into the Christmas spirit.
Move over, pumpkin spice, as a festive favourite is here.
Costa Coffee has already unveiled its Christmas collection, while Greggs, Burger King and KFC have all announced seasonal treats to see us through the colder months.

Now, Starbucks has joined the celebrations by bringing its famous Peppermint Mocha to British stores, more than 20 years after the drink first debuted across the pond.
The beverage was originally introduced in the US in 2002, quickly becoming one of the coffee giant’s most popular Christmas offerings.

While American customers have been enjoying the minty concoction for decades, Brits have largely been left watching from afar.
Until now, that is.
What’s in the Starbucks Peppermint Mocha?
Priced from £5.40, the drink combines Starbucks’ signature espresso and steamed milk with peppermint-flavoured syrup and mocha sauce.
It’s finished with whipped cream and crunchy peppermint sugar sprinkles, and can be enjoyed either hot or iced.
But the chain hasn’t stopped at just one peppermint creation.
The 2026 Christmas menu also features a Peppermint Hot Chocolate (£5.40), Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino (£5.70) and Iced Peppermint White Chocolate Matcha (£5.75).
The latter combines matcha green tea with milk, ice and peppermint syrup, before being topped with white chocolate-flavoured cold foam and peppermint sugar sprinkles.
Speaking about the festive collection, Victoria Robertson, marketing director at Starbucks UK, said: “Peppermint has become a real fan favourite in the US and is a flavour that feels instantly festive, so we’re excited to bring that Holiday magic to even more customers this year.”
She added: “We wanted to bring something new to the festive season while building on the flavours and traditions customers already know and love. It’s all part of the joy of making those special moments for our customers, with care and creativity going into every handcrafted drink.”

Starbucks fans are already celebrating
Unsurprisingly, the announcement has gone down a treat with coffee lovers, particularly those who have previously tried the peppermint flavour in America.
Taking to TikTok, one delighted customer wrote: “I get this syrup when in the USA, so I’m so happy they now have it here!!!”
Another declared: “Literally the best flavour.”
Meanwhile, one admitted: “Peppermint mocha has a chokehold on me.”
The new matcha creation has also been receiving glowing reviews.
One TikToker described the drink as 'delicious', comparing its flavour to an After Eight chocolate.
“If you like chocolate chip ice cream, that’s what it tastes like… I highly recommend,” she said.
Another satisfied customer added: “It’s sooo good! Can’t wait for my next one.”

When can you get the Starbucks Christmas drinks?
Starbucks Rewards members have been able to sample the festive collection since 29 October, while the full menu launches nationwide on 5 November.
Those who aren’t particularly keen on peppermint needn’t worry, either.
Returning favourites include the Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte, alongside festive food such as the Christmas Tree Brownie and Festive Feast Toastie.
Meanwhile, American Starbucks fans have another Christmas treat to look forward to, with the chain confirming the return of its viral Bearista glass cold cups.
Mystery Bearista ‘blind boxes’ will launch in US stores on 10 November, followed by the original collectable cup on 1 December.
One particularly enthusiastic fan wrote on X: “Let’s go get in line!!!!”
Unfortunately, a UK release for the Bearista cups hasn’t been confirmed.
At least British coffee lovers can finally see what all the Peppermint Mocha fuss is about.
