Starbucks has seemingly caved to fans’ demands by bringing back a popular treat shelf staple just months after it was discontinued: here’s everything you need to know.

If you head on down to your local coffeehouse, then you may notice something familiar has returned to the sweet snack lineup.

The item in question was previously dropped from Starbucks stores, but now a spokesperson has confirmed it’s back on the menu.

Allegedly, fans had ‘missed’ the chocolatey delight, prompting the American chain to bring it back this summer with a ‘new improved recipe’.

The bakery item retails for around £3.15 and consists of an all-butter shortbread base, topped with a ‘luxurious and smooth’ caramel with a layer of thick Belgian chocolate.

Yes, that’s right - Starbucks’ Belgian Chocolate Caramel Shortbread is back in business, and fans have been discussing how brilliant it is for years.

“Most underrated meetha the chocolate caramel shortbread @Starbucks #ifyouknowyouknow for me it tastes of university days,” typed one X user.

Another said: “Yum. Starbucks caramel and chocolate shortbread slice was up there with one of the nicest cakes/biscuits I have ever eaten. Yet another new food addiction.”

“Always invest in a chocolate caramel shortbread from Starbucks,” someone else commented.

The Belgian Chocolate Caramel Shortbread comes amid the launch of the new Cloud Frappuccino range, marrying cold foam and the chain’s beloved Frappuccino blended beverages.

Drinks can come in one of three special flavours: Strawberry Matcha, Brown Sugar and Caramel Mocha.

Anyone heading to see The Devil Wears Prada 2 this month can celebrate by unlocking the ‘secret’ Starbucks menu featuring drinks designed after the four core characters.

Fans of Miranda Priestley (played by Meryl Streep) can grab the Runway Magazine mogul’s signature order, a no-foam, extra-shot, extra-hot Caffè Latte with nonfat milk, by asking their barista for The Miranda.

Requesting ‘The Emily’ will see you landing an iced chai with almond drink and sugar-free syrup, while a ‘Nigel’ is a Doppio Espresso Con Panna with mocha sauce.

The fourth drink, named after Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs, is an oat drink cappuccino with caramel and cinnamon.

Customers can also now let AI dictate their drink orders thanks to Starbucks’ ChatGPT collaboration.

According to a press release, you can describe your mood, share a photo of your outfit, or what flavours you’re craving, and the app will translate your inspiration into an on-menu Starbucks drink.

“The beta Starbucks app in ChatGPT is part of our ongoing effort to make drink discovery at Starbucks a personal experience,” the press release read.

“We’ve enhanced discovery in the Starbucks app with a trending beverage category and a secret menu, harnessing the power of customisation that occurs every day in social media and with our baristas.

“And now, in ChatGPT, we are using AI to support something very human: helping you discover a drink you’ll love.”

To use the tool, download the ChatGPT app and enable Starbucks connectivity. Type @Starbucks and you should be good to go!
