Cult Starbucks drink returns for holiday season after disappearing for years

Starbucks has answered everyone's pleas and renewed a fan favourite

Christmas hasn’t seemed as festive since Starbucks took its cult seasonal drink off the menu.

Four long years ago, one drink was removed, and the drinks establishment hasn’t felt the same since.

That is, until now.

Not only has Starbucks announced the return of one fan favourite, but another too.

Just last week, people were getting heated on social media about the eggnog latte not being around to help them get into the festive mood.

One person tweeted: “We need the eggnog latte back on the seasonal menu.”

Another wrote: “Bring the eggnog latte back!”

A user demanded: “I am reminded today that among the greatest corporate failures of my lifetime is @Starbucks abandonment of the Egg Nog Latte. Bring it back!”

Someone else complained: “Bring back eggnog lattes! It’s a holiday hug and you are a Grinch for removing it from the menu.”

Well, their wish has been granted.

The coffee chain's popular Eggnog Latte is back - or at least it will be, from 2 December - and there’s also a new Cream Cold Foam option too, which sounds delish.

Not only is the eggnog favourite back in action, so is the Chestnut Praline Latte.

The Chestnut Praline Latte was first introduced in 2014 and has been a reoccurring feature on the festive menu ever since.

However, the Eggnog Latte was first introduced in 1986, before being discontinued in 2021.

Its return comes after Starbucks released a slew of festive themed drinks and snacks on 3 November like the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte and Iced Gingerbread Chai.

It also released its Snowman Cookie, Cranberry Bliss Bar and Sugar Plum Cheese Danish sweet treats in case you fell a little snackish.

The chain also debuted the Polar Bear Cake Pop and Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread for the first time.

Starbucks announced the news on its website, stating: “The countdown to the holiday launch at Starbucks is on. Starting Nov. 6, Starbucks customers can once again enjoy the holiday beverages that make the season so special. This year’s lineup includes Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte and Iced Gingerbread Chai. And later in the season, Chestnut Praline Latte and fan-favorite Eggnog Latte will return.”

Additionally, it shared there will be Hello Kitty merchandise available to purchase from 6 December.
