Starbucks is starting the summer season early with its three-flavour blended beverage range launching alongside moreish baked goods and an improved savoury line-up.

Just days after introducing the Devil Wears Prada 2 secret menu and protein-infused drinks, the American coffeehouse has detailed its latest innovation - a new Cloud Frappuccino.

The iced beverage, engineered to celebrate three decades of the Starbucks Frappuccino, pairs the iconic iced drink with its popular cold foam toppers to create a unique sensory experience.

“We saw an exciting opportunity to reimagine one of our most iconic beverages for summer with the new Cloud Frappuccino blended beverage range,” explained Sam Henderson, manager of beverage development EMEA at Starbucks.

“Inspired by growing interest in texture-led drinks, we’ve brought cold foam to Frappuccino blended beverages….reimagining familiar favourites while showcasing barista craft and innovation behind every cup.”

Starbucks’ Cloud Frappuccino comes in three flavours - Strawberry Matcha, Brown Sugar, and Caramel Mocha.

The former is built by blending matcha with vanilla-flavoured syrup, milk and ice. Baristas will then carefully layer a fruity strawberry flavoured cream cold foam on top to create the ‘cloud’.

Similarly, the Brown Sugar Cloud Frappuccino is made by mixing roast coffee, milk and ice together before a brown sugar-flavoured cream cold foam is smoothed on top.

If you want something a little bit more indulgent, then the Caramel Mocha Cloud Frappuccino may be right up your street.

A rich blend of mocha and caramel flavours is combined with mocha sauce, rast coffee, milk and ice.

On top, you’ll find caramel flavour cream, cold foam and a generous squirt of caramel drizzle.

Starbucks Cloud Frappuccino prices start from £5.60 each, with Rewards members able to pick up in-store or via the Starbucks App from 30 April.

Non-rewards members will be able to grab one of the three blended beverages when they launch nationwide on 7 May.

New food and bakery treats at Starbucks

Brand-new savoury heroes are set to launch in Starbucks, including a succulent chicken and chorizo focaccia, which features red peppers, semi-dried tomato red pesto and crisp rocket.

The premier sandwich starts at £5.80 and is joined by a charred chickpea and chimichurri wrap (£4.70).

The latter consists of smoky charred chickpeas, vibrant chimichurri, creamy houmous, fresh spinach, pickled slaw, red peppers, and sweetcorn in a tomato tortilla.

If you're hoping to stave off the 3pm slump, then the new raspberry and white chocolate cruffin (£4.50) or a summer bear cake pop (£3.05) may do the trick.

Starbucks is also adding a caramelised biscuit cake cube, hand-finished with spiced biscuit pieces.

Tear the sweet treat open, and you will find vanilla cream cheese frosting.

The slew of new food items will be available across the UK from 7 May.
