McDonald's launches new Christmas meal in US first

The McDonald’s 2025 holiday menu has been revealed, featuring a collaborative bundle meal starring everyone’s favourite Dr. Seuss character.

Christmas may have already crept into McDonald’s with the beloved Festive Pie making its almighty comeback, but the grand finale officially arrives on 2 December.

To celebrate 25 years since Jim Carrey starred as the grouchy green recluse in How the Grinch Stole Christmas, McDonald’s has unveiled its The Grinch collaboration.

If you’ve never seen the film, all you need to know is that the hairy cynic steals Christmas from the residents of Whoville. But thanks to Taylor Momsen’s Cindy Lou, he sees the errors of his ways, makes amends, and is finally accepted by the community.

Honouring the 2000s film anniversary, The Grinch Meal has arrived direct from Mount Crumpit. But be warned: it’s here for a good time, not a long time.

Like most McDonald’s combos, customers can select from a Big Mac or a 10-piece McNuggets, a side, and a medium drink.

You can also swap out your regular McDonald’s fries to try out the Dill Pickle ‘Grinch Salt’ McShaker Fries instead.

These limited-edition skinny legends are served with dill pickle seasoning on the side, allowing customers to decide exactly how tangy they want their potatoes to be.

Unlike a McDonald’s Happy Meal, the shiny new Grinch Meal - debuting in the United States for the first time this year - doesn’t come with a toy.

Instead, you’ll be gifted a pair of socks featuring Dr Seuss-inspired illustrations of the mean, green machine himself, his dog Max, and Cindy Lou.

The socks come in yellow, blue, red, or green, and each carries a message on the bottom, including ‘The Grinch was here’ and ‘Property of The Grinch’.

In a statement, Alyssa Buetikofer, chief marketing and customer experience officer of McDonald's USA said: “The Grinch gets it–the holidays are chaotic, and he’s thrilled to give our fandom permission to embrace their inner Grinch with his festive mischievous meal and spirited socks.”

The Grinch Meal’s US debut comes hot off the heels of its success in other territories, including Canada, Britain, and Ireland.

It seems fans are excited about getting their hands on the new McDonald’s Christmas offering, with one X user writing: “OMG I am definitely getting this Grinch Meal!! Super siiiick! Does them green Grinch socks come with it?? Please say yes!”

“The Grinch Meal sounds like it’s gone be DELICIOUS,” reported someone else.

“What's a Grinch Meal? You open your Happy Meal and find that it's been stolen, and all that's in the box is a patch of green fur?,” joked another user.

A fourth replied: “Another banger promo.”

The Grinch Meal will be available nationwide from 2 December.
