Greggs has confirmed that consumers can expect to see ‘small price changes’ by the end of December after it already hiked prices three times this year.
The popular UK bakery chain has revealed that the costs will go up, but it hasn’t yet confirmed which menu items will be feeling the heat of the price raise.
In October, the chain increased the price of its sausage rolls, citing employment costs as the reason for the hike.
This time, the reason is similar.

Per the company, the recent increase is due to ‘the impact of rising costs and inflation’.
As reported by the Sun, a memo was handed to staff members before being posted to Reddit forums.
The memo included ways the staff could handle the backlash over the prince increase as it read: "We’re always committed to offering our customers great quality that delivers the best value for money.

"But like many retailers we’re having to manage the pressure of rising prices across our supply chain. While we’ll always look to absorb costs whenever we can, we’ve had to make some small price increases (in) our range."
Some employees commented on the thread, with one noting how customers don’t get warned the same way employees are.
The wrote: "I work for Greggs and it annoys me that the customers don’t get a heads up the prices are changing (apart from Reddit) because yes they are going to take it out on us when we have nothing to do with the change and my God it’s annoying and uncomfortable at the same time."
Another said: “Well customers are not going to be happy and they’ll take their frustration out on us.”

As for the change, a Greggs spokesperson has since explained that the price increases won’t include many fan ‘favourites’.

They told FOODbible in a statement: "There will be small price changes to some of our products at the end of December, due to the impact of rising costs and inflation.
"We continue to offer our customers great value and high-quality products across the entire range. Many of our customers' favourites, such as breakfast and sandwich meal deals, will not change."

All in all, Greggs has seen quite a few price differences as of late, with the sausage roll jumping to £1.30 back in January.
In October, its two-part and three-part breakfast deals went up by 20p to £3.15 and £4.15p, and then there was also the case of the 5p increase on the star biscuit and croissant.
