Greggs is pulling out all the stops when it comes to providing the UK what it needs, having teased a game-changing new idea.
The famous pastry establishment has long been held to high standards by punters around the nation, as it serves freshly baked goods all year round at its set locations.
But now there's another way fans will be able to get their fix: via a vending machine.
The high street bakery chain has announced it’s looking to experiment with this new model after finding success with its three Bitesize shops.

According to the company’s recent earnings call, the move is planned to happen ‘very shortly’, with Richard Hutton, chief financial officer for Greggs, saying it’ll include ‘both automated and manual vending solutions’.

Greggs' chief executive, Roisin Currie, went on to share that there are some things in the works right now to ‘provide convenience for customers’ and ‘unlock additional customer missions’.
But a machine isn’t the only place you can enjoy a Greggs sausage roll.
Greggs is combining pints and pastries and teaming up with Fenwick to launch its first-ever pub: The Golden Flake Tavern (fantastic name).
"The Golden Flake Tavern brings a fresh twist to the traditional British pub experience, and we hope everyone who joined us before, along with many new faces, will come along to enjoy this unique Greggs experience," Hannah Squirrell, Customer Director at Greggs, said.
If you missed this news, it happened in September, in Newcastle, bringing you the North’s most prized consumables and putting them in one place. According to its website, it'll be open until 13 March, so you don't have long.
Now, all they need is to serve Yorkshire Tea and we’ll all be happy!

Talking more about the pub, Squirrell said: “Following the reaction and success of our previous collaborations with Fenwick—Bistro by Greggs in 2023 and the Greggs Champagne Bar last year—we’re thrilled to be launching our third landmark venture together."
Champagne and Greggs is an interesting choice, to be fair.
But beer and Greggs? It seems a little more pair-able.
Leo Fenwick, Strategic Partnerships Director at Fenwick, commented on the Tavern, which sells bakes galore, adding: “We’re thrilled to once again join forces with Greggs to launch The Golden Flake Tavern at Fenwick. This latest collaboration celebrates the best of both brands, pairing Greggs’ much-loved classics with our own distinctive approach to creating memorable in-store experiences. As two North East icons, we’re proud to work together again in offering customers something playful, surprising, and truly unique in the heart of Newcastle.”
