Beloved chocolate bar makes triumphant return after being discontinued 7 years ago

Eagle-eyed fans have already spotted it in stores

2026 is looking like a big year for food and drink fans - especially now that an old favourite has been revived for the first time in seven years.

In the first month of the year alone, we’ve been treated to a discontinued Pepsi flavour making a surprise revival, news that a cult US chain is finally making its UK debut, and details of the ultimate Mini Egg buying ‘hack’ ahead of Easter.

Meanwhile, Walkers launched a brand refresh, Diet Cherry Coke made its comeback, and Babybel made serious steps to improve its carbon footprint.

Now, it’s the turn of Italian confectionary maker Ferrero to make the headlines.

The company, founded in 1946, teased the return of a creamy chocolate bar late last year, and now the baiting has resulted in a indulging item launch.

It’s been seven years since the rich candy was available to purchase in the UK - but it’s now back in business, and sweet treat enthusiasts are more than happy about it.

“The yummiest chocolate ever,” said one Instagram user.

“Whatever, I want it in ice cream too,” someone else typed.

Another wrote: “I was talking about this the other day with a friend so glad these are back.”

Dark Chocolate Kinder Bueno returns

Yes, that’s right - the Dark Chocolate Kinder Bueno has returned to British grocery stores after initially being introduced as a limited-edition product in 2015.

Kinder must have deemed customer reaction positive, because the dark chocolate delight reappeared in 2016.

However, full-sized bars were axed in 2019, with smaller versions remaining inside Kinder Bueno Mini Mix packs.

Thankfully the bars are back in a big way, but it’s not known whether they have made a permanent homecoming, or if the Dark Chocolate Kinder Bueno will be a flash-in-the-pan.

Shoppers have taken to social media to confirm that they’ve spotted the Ferrero item in various Tesco stores across the nation.

It isn’t currently available to purchase from the UK site, but it is listed for €1.70 (£1.47) via Irish Tesco.

Kinder Easter treat on sale now

If you’re loyal to the Kinder brand, then you may be interested in a special Easter item that is exclusively being sold in Home Bargains.

The Kinder Surprise Filled Egg, which is exclusive to the store, is priced at £12.99.

It contains milk and white Kinder Bueno varieties, as well as a hollow chocolate Easter bunny, and Kinder mini eggs.

There are also cards biscuit bars, surprise eggs, and happy hippo chocolate cream biscuit bars to snack on.

A spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News that the Kinder Surprise Filled Egg is flying off shelves and that the company is 'replenishing as quickly as we can'.
