Britain is already home to a deluge of American fast-food institutions - and another, dubbed KFC’s ‘biggest rival’, has plans in place to open up almost 100 stores this year.

When it comes to US-style fried chicken, the UK is really spoiled for choice. Right now, there’s everything from Chick-fil-A to Dave’s Hot Chicken, Shake Shack, and so many other Stateside favourites to choose from.

In 2026, we’ll also be able to head down to popular chains such as Chuck E. Cheese and Jersey Mike’s Subs, as well as Popeye’s, which has major expansion dreams on the cards.

This year will also be the first time that British food connoisseurs can try a US restaurant chain, which has a major cult following, in their home country.

The brand, which was founded in Louisiana almost three decades ago, is famed for its chicken fingers, signature, tang sauce, and buttery Texas toast.

Meat-lovers rejoice - Raising Cane’s is finally breaking through to the United Kingdom.

In a statement shared with Parade, Raising Cane’s said: “February continues the momentum for Raising Cane's as we grow in both new and familiar markets and introduce even more Communities to the Cane's experience.

“With each new Restaurant, we extend our commitment to serving Craveable Chicken Finger Meals made with premium chicken and cooked fresh to order, while creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps Customers coming back and gives our Crews the opportunity to grow alongside the Brand."

The company continued, alleging that they would be rolling out almost 100 brick and mortar stores in 2026, including the first British establishment in 2026.

“Steady growth in both new and established markets reinforces our long-term vision to be one of the top 10 Restaurant Brands in the United States,” the spokesperson added.

Facebook users have been having their say on Raising Cane’s making its UK debut, with one typing: “OH MY GOD THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

A second tagged their friend and claimed: “We are driving to wherever the first shop is on opening day.”

“Really to London what is wrong with having one in Cumbria?” remarked another.

As well as the British building opening soon, the business has made arrangements to open a plethora of restaurants in the United States in February.
