Gordan Ramsay is perhaps the world’s most famous chef. Trained by Marco Pierre White, Ramsay has gone on to win 17 Michelin stars across his multi-decade career, and currently holds eight.
He’s also famous for his exacting approach to running kitchens, with many an iconic clip of him tearing fellow cooks to pieces in Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, Hell’s Kitchen, and The F Word.
As the latter would suggest, he’s also famously foul-mouthed.

He also takes no prisoners as far as online commentary goes, as was the case when a commenter dared to criticise his approach to cooking steak sandwiches.
Taking to his TikTok account, Ramsay shared the process with his 41 million followers.
Along with some high-end ciabatta, the steak sandwich features a portion of caramelised onions, a healthy dash of mayo, and seasoning with garlic and rosemary.
The 2023 video shows him tenderising the meat with a rolling pin before cooking it alongside the onions, rosemary and garlic, and the insides of the ciabatta are toasted in butter too.
He then whips the mayonnaise up with what looks like soy sauce and wasabi paste. The steak also gets a couple of glugs from two bottles of brown liquid, although he doesn’t name them in the video or caption.
He slices the steak so it can stretch across the sandwich with an accordion structure, and assembles the sandwich before giving it a little press so show the juices oozing out.
"No Idiot Sandwiches with this recipe! My delicious Steak Sandwich is perfect for summer!" he captioned the video.
The TikTok video has over nine million likes at the time of writing, and it’s hard to imagine anyone besides the non-beef-eaters turning their nose up at it.
A few critics nevertheless appeared in the comments, with one in particular drawing Ramsay’s famous ire.
"Too much butter, wrong pan used," the comment began.
"Didn't cook the steak well enough, poor choice of toppings..."

They ended the feedback with: "You should never smack a steak like that."
Bold and brazen from this unknown culinary critic, but that’s par for the course on social media.
Considering the slander, Ramsay was uncharacteristically restrained in his response: "Ok Gordon Ramsay."
We can only hope the ill-advised commenter is okay.
The steak sandwich recipe on Chef Ramsay's website does differ somewhat from what's shown in the TikTok, with a tomato relish and no hint of wasabi, but we're sure that's delicious too.
