Christmas cookie cutter leaves people absolutely stumped

Other Redditors were left baffled over the cookie cutter shape

A woman was left desperate for answers after coming across a Christmas cookie cutter and being 'stumped' over its shape.

With the festive season well and truly in full swing, many of us have been taking to the kitchen for our best attempt at baking Christmas cookies and homemade mince pies - which inevitably means digging out our favourite recipes, Christmas cutters and festive cake cases.

But after finding one of her festive cutters in the cupboard, one baffled woman took to Reddit to ask for advice - and it turns out there's a whole subreddit dedicated to understanding weird and wonderful cookie cutters.

Posting in r/whatismycookiecutter, she said: "This is driving me nuts. It’s from a Christmas set but I’m stumped."

The cutter in question is certainly unique looking and at first glance looks like it could be some sort of house.

It features pointy edges at the top, and a squiggly edge at the bottom.

But trying to work out exactly what it is feels almost impossible.

Reddit had plenty of suggestions, however, with one person commenting: "Is it a sleigh loaded with presents? (upside down from OP pic)."

While another said: "Could make it a house/ cabin with snow on the roof and ground?"

And a third added: "I think it's maybe JUST the snow on the roof of a house. It's upside down in OP's picture. The protrusion on the bottom left is the chimney."

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Any chance it fits together with another from the set, like a puzzle piece?"

Some less serious responses included dinosaurs, Simpsons characters and a very bizarre explanation about a chess piece.

"It's a knight chess piece that tripped on a wreath that somebody left lying around while putting up the Christmas decorations," one wrote.

The general consensus concluded that the shape was some sort of sleigh with gifts, a nativity, or a snowy house scene.

However, ultimately, Reddit didn't come up with a final answer.

And it's not the only Christmas cookie cutter to leave people baffled.

In another post on the subreddit, one person explained the cutter had been a mystery in their family for years.

Many people are convinced the shape is a penguin, while another thought it could be Santa and others suggested an angel.

One wrote: "Lady bug in profile!"

While another theorised: "It kind of looks like a baseball hat."

What do you think?
