If you thought the British public were loyal to Greggs and Greggs only, think again.
According to social media users, there’s a new bakery on the block, and it’s providing absolutely ‘unreal’ baked goods.
Whether it’s a steak bake, a sausage roll, a cold cob or a coffee, Bakery79 is quickly becoming the go-to establishment for people to chow down in, but you’ve probably never heard of it.
Bakery79 is a little-known bakery that’s been quietly expanding for the last few months after launching this year.

With 12 sites already across England and Scotland, it’s actually taking over a number of former Greggs shops, which makes the blow that much deeper.
So, what does this unknown concession shop sell?

A Bakery79 staff member told Kent Online that its pastries are the star of the show: “In other stores you usually get a lot of pastry and not much inside, but these are full, especially the ones with beans. The sausage rolls are really nice too."

The brand is run by Manoj and Hemant Tandon of Park Garage Group, which owns the bakery franchise and hopes to expand it across the UK.
The reason? To provide the public an alternative to Greggs and bring back community.
Director Manoj Tandon said to the outlet: “Good food and a warm welcome have always been at the heart of our family.
“My grandparents built this business on the belief that even a quick stop should feel personal.

“Bringing Bakery79 to Kent is incredibly special for us and offering free coffee all day felt like the perfect way to meet the community.”

The pricing, he said, stays within a minor increase of Gregg’s prices, so that things are cheap enough for customers to be excited about.
Of course, you’ve probably never been to a Bakery79, but for those who have, it’s amazing.

TikToker liam_lav boasted about his haul in Ashington - one of the spots housed within a former Gregg's site - with one person commenting: “Just tried it. Unreal.”
Liam claimed ‘the stuff in here looks absolutely lush,’ and to be fair, it did look very tasty.

Others took to Google Reviews to share how they felt about the flaky treats.

Another wrote: “Very kind staff and good food with an affordable price.”
Someone else said: “I tried donuts its very delicious and tasty.”
Whether this will be a store that’ll knock Greggs off the throne and out of the hearts of the British public has yet to be determined, but apparently, it’s making people convert.
