We’ve tried and tested McDonald’s new, limited-time drinks range, including a ‘refreshing’ iced lemonade and a game-changing chocolatey beverage, and there’s one that’s a cut above the rest.
As the fast-food favourite gears up to launch FIFA World Cup-inspired Squishmallows and collectable cups featuring some of the best footballers on the planet, LADbible Group have been giving the beloved brand’s drinks range a spin.
The majority of the five-item roster was initially released in late April while another, dubbed a ‘Gen-Z favourite’, landed at McDonald’s just this week.
To find exactly which beverage was worth the hype, a slew of LADbible Group staff stuck their straws in and slurped.

And, according to the consensus, there’s a serious standout.
The Honeycomb Frappé - a returning favourite - features a creamy chocolate base blended with ice, and is topped with a whip of cream and crunchy honeycomb pieces.

Unsurprisingly, the indulgent new treat was a firm favourite in the LADbible Group office.
“Huge fan of the Chocolate Honeycomb Frappé, didn't want it to end,” one fan said.
Another said that while the beverage was ‘nice’, they claimed trying to drink it through a paper straw caused them to ‘crash out’.

The Chocolate Honeycomb Frappé starts at £3.69 for a Regular and can be purchased at participating McDonald’s stores across Britain and Ireland.
If the Honeycomb isn’t for you, then there’s also the Caramel Iced Frappé, various milkshakes, and the hot Toffee Latte to choose from.
Lemonade-lovers will be pleased to hear that there are a trio of bubbly beverages on offer at McDonald’s this month, including a Frozen Cherry Lemonade.

The latter, described as a ‘tangy frozen lemonade with a deliciously sweet cherry flavoured swirl’ had one LADbible Group staff member calling it ‘refreshing’.

However, if you don’t love sweetened beverages, then the summer hero may not be for you, with one drinker claiming it was a ‘bit too sweet’ for them.
Anyone who loves heading to the cinema to try out unique flavour combinations on the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine may be interested in the two Sprite flavours currently being slung out of their local McDonald’s.

The first is a Sprite Zero infused with raspberry-flavoured syrup. And the second? Well, it features a wicked hit of Pineapple-flavoured syrup.
One employee who tried the latter called it ‘banging’, but admitted that it could be a little bit ‘fizzier’.
The latest addition to the McDonald’s menu is the Vanilla Matcha Frappé, which arrived in stores across the UK and Ireland on 2 June.

Blending bold matcha green tea flavouring with sweet vanilla and ice, the picnic-perfect drink comes topped with a lick of whipped cream.
According to a McDonald’s press release, the frappé ‘offers a deliciously sweet and creamy twist on the classic Matcha’.
However, some of our LADs have said that the colour of the matcha, which typically has a rich umami taste, is ‘louder’ than its flavour.

“Matcha Frappe - super sweet, heavy on the vanilla with a smidge of matcha flavour. The colour is defo louder than the taste,” said one.
Another commented: “Matcha frappe has never met matcha. Nice shade of green tho.”
A third reported that the Vanilla Matcha Frappé may appeal to those who prefer their green tea flavouring to be a base, rather than the star of the show.
“The matcha one is really sweet and tastes like a vanilla milkshake, defo not for people who actually like the taste of matcha,” they claimed.
