For many households, the weekly food shop is a careful dance of remembering what’s already in the fridge, guessing what might have gone out of date, and hoping no one has accidentally shoved something important to the very back.
However, one famous family’s ultra-organised approach has caught the attention of thousands online, all thanks to a simple video that seemed, at first, like just another casual fridge reveal.
In the Instagram video, TV star Jonathan Scott strolls into his bright, open-plan space before pulling open a fridge door to reveal shelves that look more like the inside of a boutique grocery store than a home appliance.
There are rows of yoghurts stacked with precision, jars arranged neatly side by side, tubs sorted meticulously, and everything set out as though following some kind of perfectly honed system.

Unsurprisingly, viewers couldn’t help but be impressed at the fridge belonging to Canadian TV personality and Property Brothers co-host and his fiancée, Zooey Deschanel, who is known all over for her roles in TV and film like New Girl, 500 Days of Summer, and Elf.
Showing social media users what’s in the couple’s fridge, Scott explained: “We have the secret is Zooey’s the cook in our house,” offering a rare peek into how the pair keep their kitchen running smoothly.
He went on to say that ‘if she can walk in here and instantly make 100 meals’, then maintaining a tidy and organized space becomes essential.

In order to achieve this, any of the family’s leftovers ‘always go on the bottom shelf’ and having regular clear-outs to keep better track of expiration dates and not be surprised by anything that ends up going spoiled.
What’s more, in order to save space for the many fruits, cheeses, and other bits they keep fully stocked on, Scott showed the family also has separate drawers for produce and other yogurts for the kids — saving room for the rest of the army’s worth of food supplies kept in the main fridge.

Later in the video, which was posted on Scott’s Instagram, he showed off one feature that got people intrigued: the ability to check the fridge contents remotely with an inside camera.

Demonstrating how handy it can be, he said: "So we’re at the grocery store, and I can't remember if we have something…I can actually look from my phone inside the fridge, and it’ll show me what I have and what I don’t have."
For viewers used to guessing whether they already have milk, that’s definitely a handy feature.
As the video continued circulating, responses poured in from every angle. A huge number of commenters were stunned by the level of organisation, calling the fridge ‘beautiful’, ‘cool’, and ‘ingenious’, with many wanting something like this in their own home, or at least having a fridge camera.

One viewer joked that the display looked so impressive, they asked: “Can you explain this to my husband, who just jams things in anywhere and then can’t find them?” while another changed the subject, asking when the engaged famous pair is getting married.
Of course, not everyone responded with praise. One person wrote: “Must be nice to have money to buy that much food and have it stocked in your kitchen to make whatever you want, whenever you want. It’s quite a luxury that not many have! Not sure why you’re bragging about it online though…”
Another shot back quickly: “It is nice. Get over your jealousy.”
