You could be owed money by the energy drink brand that Dwayne Johnson co-owns after it agreed to a $3 million class action settlement.
ZOA Energy, co-founded in 2021 by wrestling icon The Rock, 53, is known for its 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans of zero-sugar, carbonated energy drinks which contain caffeine sourced from green tea and green coffee beans.
On 23 October 2024, a lawsuit was filed against the beverage band in the Northern District of California.
The suit alleged that the drinks contained chemical preservatives, such as citric and ascorbic acids, despite the company advertising their products as being ‘preservative-free’.

“ZOA’s claim that its Products contain '0 Preservatives' is false, as each contains a significant amount of the preservative citric acid,” a federal complaint obtained by USA Today read.

ZOA denied the allegations, agreeing to settle without admitting wrongdoing, according to court records.
It maintained that its labelling and marketing was ‘truthful, accurate, and compliant with applicable law’.

The final approval hearing for the $3 million class action settlement is scheduled for 26 March 2026, as per the settlements website.
If you forked out for a can of ZOA Energy in the last few years, then you may be entitled to some compensation.
The settlement’s website states that if you are a resident of the United States who purchased any product with a label stating ‘0 Preservatives’ between 1 March 2021 and 21 November 2025, then you could be eligible for a cash payment.
To qualify, you must have proof of purchase.

The sites state that anyone whose claim is approved with receipts will be capped at a settlement payout of $150 per household.

If you can’t provide proof that you bought ZOA Energy during the outlined time, then you may still be able to grab some cash.
“Class Members who submit Claims without receipts will be capped at a Settlement Payment of Ten Dollars ($10) per household,” the legislation reads.

Claims against the beverage company can be submitted electronically or by mail.
According to Arizona Central, consumers must choose to ‘give up (their) rights to sue (ZOA) Energy for the claims released by the Settlement'.
If you decide not to give up your rights, then you will not receive any of the funds outlined above.
Consumers who want to exclude themselves from the proceedings must opt out by 13 February 2026.
