Starbucks is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Disney’s Hannah Montana with a limited-edition drink, but some fans are irritated over the chosen flavour for one key reason.
On Tuesday (24 March), Miley Cyrus officially resurrected her blonde wig-wearing character for an anniversary special hosted by Call Her Daddy podcaster and proclaimed ‘superfan’ Alex Cooper.
Hannah Montana’s return premiered in Los Angeles with former cast members Jason Earles, Moisés Arias, and Cody Linley appearing beside Cyrus and her family.
Emily Osment, who played Lilly Truscott on the show, was notably absent from the programme, citing scheduling conflicts.

Following the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special dropping on Disney+, Starbucks began serving a slice of nostalgia via a limited-time iced drink.
Customers wanting to get their hands on the unique ‘Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher’ can order it from the coffee chain’s app, or manually customise it in store.

Its base is a Strawberry Açaí Refresher with no strawberry inclusions, topped with a raspberry cold foam and a couple pumps of raspberry syrup for good measure.
The perfect popstar drink has been lauded on social media, with some fans calling it ‘delicious’. Others have asked the company to make it a permanent menu addition.
“I got the Hannah Montana Starbucks drink!! They didn’t write her name on it but it was still really good!,” someone else responded.
However, some Hannah Montana watchers have criticised Starbucks for using raspberries in the ‘secret’ recipe.
This is seemingly because Cyrus’ character clearly established her disdain for raspberries in season one of the show.

The episode, titled 'Smells Lilke Teen Sellout' shared details of a traumatic childhood pie-eating contest amid Montana's pending raspberry perfume brand deal.
“Living for this, if it wasn’t raspberry. Since Miley canonically hates raspberry to the point of barfing. But ok yall,” one Instagram user commented.
A second took to X and wrote: “I’m crying out of every flavor in the world, Starbucks chose the one where there’s an entire episode based around the fact that Miley/Hannah hates it.”
“RASPBERRY COLD FOAM?!? did @Starbucks forget this important arc in Hannah Montana?!?,” a third remarked.
But it appears that the raspberry inclusion isn’t an oversight after all.
Following Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher’s launch, Starbucks posted a series of promotional videos to Instagram featuring a limo heading through its drive-thru.
The clear reference to the Hannah Montana track, ‘Best of Both Worlds’, was accompanied by the caption: “For the fans who remember the raspberry saga, this one’s for you…
“Hannah’s Secret Popstar Refresher is on the secret menu now. And don’t miss the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premiering March 24 on @disneyplus and @hulu.”
“The raspberry lore lives on!,” joked the official Disney Channel Instagram account.
Another fan said: “Oh so it WASSS on purpose, I see you.”
