McDonald’s is officially bringing back a seasonal menu item next week - and fans are saying it is finally their ‘time to shine’.
The legendary fast-food institution has been making headlines recently, with the return of the ‘most requested’ Happy Meal toys ever in the United States and the launch of the Friends Meal in the UK.
There’s been a sweet treat overhaul, a 20p sauce that sent customers into a frenzy, and the news that McDonald’s Rewards is having a facelift.
It appears McDonald’s fans are being treated once again, as the brand has revealed two St. Patrick’s Day-inspired items are back on the menu ahead of the big day on 17 March.

“It’s that time of year where McDonald’s fans feel their luck turning,” the company said in a press release.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then you are in luck because the Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock McFlurry are back in business - and sooner than you think.
The Shamrock Shake, which debuted in 1967, consists of vanilla soft serve ice cream, artificially flavoured minty green syrup, and whipped topping.
A medium cup of the creamy concoction comes in at 540 calories, according to the official company site.
The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry was brought in to the mix in 2020 to celebrate half a century of McDonald’s honouring the Irish national holiday.
The 460-calorie dessert is made with a creamy vanilla Soft Serve, the same minty syrup used in the Shamrock Shake, and has Oreo cookie pieces swirled throughout.

Both the Shamrock Shake and the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry will be available to purchase in participating McDonald’s restaurants from Tuesday 17 February.
That means you will have exactly one month to try both of them before officially celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with your friends, family, and local community.
Guillaume Huin, US McDonald’s senior marketing director, posted about the goodies’ comeback on social media, writing on X: “The Shamrock Shake and OREO Shamrock McFlurry return to McDonald’s on 2/17.”
His post has received numerous comments from chuffed fans, with one typing: “THIS IS MY TIME TO SHINE!”
Another replied: “Been waiting for this one.”

“Got one of these last year and thought I would love it. Was slightly disappointed,” a third said.
A fourth penned: “Need more of this in my feed.”
If the Shamrock Shake and the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry don’t tantalise your taste buds, then there are new sweet items, such as the Brownie Pie and a Doughnut Crumb Latte to choose from instead.
Classics like the Sugar Doughnut, Mixed Berry Muffin, and Apple Pie can also be purchased, as well as a limited-time Munchies Vanilla Cheesecake McFlurry and a Milkybar Cookie Crisp version.
