McDonald’s regularly refreshes its menu, keeping the McNugget and Big Mac-shaped spine well protected by a rotating cadre of burger variants and other seasonal treats.
Every now and then you’ll get a new menu item that seems to be standing the test of time only for it to get quietly shuffled out the exit.
It happened to the Chicken Legend, it happened to the Angus Beef Burger, and now it’s happened to the Triple Cheeseburger.

The tripled-up version of the McDonald’s cheeseburger first hit its stores in 2020, making for a hefty and satisfying tower of meat and cheese that could curb even the most fierce hunger.
But alas, no menu item is truly safe from Ronald’s axe, and so it’s proven for the Triple Cheeseburger.
"Sorry it's gone, but not forgotten," said McDonald’s on its website. As with other chopped menu items, there’s always the potential for it to make a return later down the road.
Now, you could fashion your own stack of three British and Irish beef patties, ketchup, mustard, cheese, gherkins and onions, but that’s the kind of architectural work that few people are interested in when they stroll under the golden arches.
A McDonald’s spokesperson told the Sun: "We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting."
Of course, the removal of the Triple Cheeseburger hasn’t left a gaping void behind it: the menu is awash with tasty options both new and old. Nevertheless, it’s absence has got social media users frothing like rabid dogs.
"McDonald's getting rid of the Triple Cheeseburger in the UK may be the worst news I've had all week,” said one X user who clearly hasn’t been following what’s going on in the Middle East.
"Taking the Triple Cheeseburger off the menu is my last straw - done with McDs," said another who will almost certainly return to McDonald’s in the near future.
"Why have you removed the Triple Cheeseburger from the menu?” one directly asked the McDonald’s X account. “You take that away and instead bring in that way overpriced Big Arch thing."

The Big Arch, which made its debut on June 18th, is like a mega Big Mac. It features two of McDonald’s beef patties, white cheddar cheese slices, onions, lettuce, pickles and a new Big Arch sauce made with ketchup and mayonnaise.
McDonald’s reckons it’ll be a ‘future icon’, so perhaps that’s why it’s taken the decision to strip back some of its in-house competition while it makes an impression on fans.
