Burger King has poked fun at fast-food rival McDonald’s with a video of its president taking part in a taste test akin to that uploaded by CEO Chris Kempczinski.
The Big Arch, dubbed McDonald’s ‘best ever burger’, launched in the United States this week (3 March) after successful promotions in territories including Britain and Canada.
Ahead of its introduction, McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski uploaded an ‘awkward’ video to Instagram of him trying the menu item for what appeared to be the first time.
“The Big Arch might be my new go-to lunch order. Who else is counting down the days until it’s in a store near you?,” he wrote in the caption.

Critics were quick to slam the businessman, who has helmed McDonald’s since 2019, as he continued to describe the Big Arch as a ‘product’, rather than a food.
“I love this product. It is so good,” he raved, explaining how ‘big’ the burger really was.

The now-viral clip has drawn the attention of rival Burger King, which used the opportunity to reimagine Kempczinski’s taste test and comment on the original video.
“@chrisk_mcd we couldn’t finish it either,” the official company account wrote on Instagram.
A ‘CEO burger taste-test’ video featuring Tom Curtis, the president of Burger King US and Canada, was also uploaded to TikTok.
The businessman appeared to take a huge bite out of a Whopper before claiming the ‘only thing missing’ was a napkin.
The caption added: “Thought we’d replay this,” hinting that it was a direct dig at McDonald’s social video.
With over 4.3 million views, the likely Burger King burn has been praised by social media users and burger fans alike.
“That’s because Burger King actually has better burgers,” replied one TikTok user.
A second responded: “If your burger CEO doesn't look like this when eating a burger, he's not your CEO.”
“Not the shade to the McDonalds CEO,” someone else typed.
A fourth commented: “Best fast food place ever, i don’t care what anyone says.”
Burger King recently made headlines upon announcing that its famous Whopper was getting a revamp for the first time in ten years.
Changes include: using better buns, higher-quality mayonnaise, and swapping its classic packet packaging for a sturdy box.
A press release stated that the makeover was inspired by guest feedback, and that the Whopper would also include ‘freshly cut onions and tomatoes and crisp lettuce, tangy pickles’.

The restaurant chain’s upgraded burger comes just weeks after it added a breakfast version to select venues’ menus.
In January, BK announced that those living in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Portland, Oregon, could get their chops around a Bacon Cheddar Hash Whopper.
The beefy breakfast bun was served with bacon, an egg patty, cheddar cheese sauce, hash browns, and hollandaise aioli on a sesame seed bun.
Other US-based breakfast staples include fully loaded Croissan’wichs, Biscuit Sanwiches, and French Toast Sticks.
