The CEO of McDonald’s has again been trolled online by another food chain boss - this time it’s Wendy’s.

2026 has seen a lot of change for McDonald’s, particularly when it was announced that the Big Arch burger was potentially heading stateside.

The Big Arch has already become an instant favourite in several countries, including the United Kingdom.

It's also found itself a fan in Chris Kempczinski, the 57-year-old CEO of Maccies. Well, apparently.

In fact, he enjoys it so much that he advertised it on his Instagram account, claiming: “I love this product. It is so good.”

Then, he did an unboxing-style video where he revealed just how ‘big’ the Big Arch is, before Kempczinski said: “There’s so much going on with this.”

After taking a bite, the CEO then praised: “That’s so good… It’s distinctively McDonald’s. Only McDonald’s could do this type of burger, but it also is unlike anything else on our menu. It’s a delicious product.”

But the 3 February clip was quickly trolled. One, for how he only describes the burger as a ‘product’ and not food; two, for the small bite he had; and three, for the way he unboxed it.

While it’s common to see the public get involved in joking like this, it’s another thing to see big food chains to do it too.

As for Wendy’s, the chain’s US President Pete Suerken shared his own video on 4 March, showing him trying one of iconic Baconator burgers.

In the clip, he made several references to McDonald’s, such as their ice-cream machines – which are iconically always broken.

As he was making his own Frosty, he joked: “Is this set up today? Oh wait, our machines are always working.”

Suerken then ate a few big bites of his burger, remarking that ‘this is exactly what a good hamburger should be.’

Online, people were quick to point out the many references to the Big Arch video, with one noting: “Now i know this a play into the other burger videos but they played this well. from the pairing with the frosty, machine always working, and even him sizing up the burger - nice!”

At first, it was Burger King who poked fun at its fast-food rival, by sharing a video of its own president taking part in a taste test, where they wrote, ‘@chrisk_mcd we couldn’t finish it either.’

If Wendy’s and Burger King have both joked about the Big Arch, who do you think will be next?
