McDonald's brings back iconic McFlurry for first time in 17 years

As the thermometer is set to rise over the next few weeks, many of us will be after an ice cream (or two, or three) and an iconic flavour is making a return to McDonald's.
Good things come to those who wait, and this flavour was last seen way back when in 2009, after it was a limited edition sensation.
Their wish has been answered, and the Cornetto McFlurry is coming back to McDonald's almost two decades later.
There's not one, but two flavours to enjoy.

They will be coming back from July 14, with a strawberry Cornetto McFlurry, and a chocolate version.
The strawberry edition features strawberry sauce paired with crispy chunks of the iconic Cornetto cone wafer, while the chocolate blends chocolate chunks, chocolate sauce, and those crispy wafer chunks.
Nostalgia is high for this one, and fans have been sharing their utter delight on social media.
What with many fake AI announcements, it seems many of us have trust issues over whether an exciting announcement is legit or not: "My god I hope this is true! They’re back," wrote one.
Another added: "All over this" while someone else marvelled at how long we've been waiting, exclaiming: "Can you believe it’s been 17 years."
No, no we can't.
"Now we’re talking," wrote another keen fan, while one raved: "OMG yes, the chocolate one," and "Want want want."
Another superfan quipped: “This is just what the country needs to get us through the long hot summer.”
Others joked about the long-running cliché that the milkshake and ice cream machines are often malfunctioning: "Yeah right, the ice cream machine never working!"
There's some seriously retro advertising to go with the flavours too, which is taking us right back to the 2000s.
Other new summer additions to the McDonald's menu include include the Big Arch burger with bacon, a Hot Honey McCrispy and Hot Honey Sausage and Egg McMuffin.
There's also a Mozzarella Dippers Sharebox, the rather unusual flavour combo of a Hot Honey Mini McFlurry, Strawberry Candyfloss Frappe and an Apple flavour Sprite.
Which one will you be going for this summer?
Be quick to eat them before they melt though, if this heatwave continues.
The Cornetto McFlurries aren't the only things making a comeback.
On 23 June, US-based customers have the chance to get their hands on an item that has been missing for a whopping 34 years: the Fried Apple Pie.
Fans are loving the trip down memory lane and are hopeful other items will make a comeback, too.
