A brand of popular sauté pans sold across major US retailers are being recalled over a risk they may cause injury, with almost 100 incidents reported so far.

Around 740,000 Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans - which are sold as a two-piece set with one 10-inch pan and one 11.5-inch pan - are affected.

As People notes, they were sold from August 2021 through to February 2026 for about $40, which means there is a decent chance many of them are still sitting in regular kitchen rotation now.

The reason behind the recall is more serious than the usual wear-and-tear complaint. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC): “The metal cap on the screw that connects the sauté pan to the handle can become detached and forcefully eject when heated, posing impact and burn hazards to consumers.”

The CPSC said E Mishan is aware of ‘at least 98 incidents’ in which the metal cap detached and ejected from the pan.

One of those reports involved a consumer suffering bruising and burn injuries, which gives a clearer sense of why the recall has been treated with urgency. This is not a case of a coating issue or a minor fault that people can work around; it’s a problem linked directly to a part of the pan potentially failing while in use during cooking.

The recalled pans carry UPC number 0-80313-08131-6 and were sold at Costco stores as well as online through Costco.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com. E Mishan & Sons, Inc., of New York, imported the products, while the pans were manufactured in China.

The advice for consumers is to stop using them straight away. The CPSC said: “Consumers should stop using the recalled sauté pans immediately and contact E Mishan for a full refund.”

Customers will be asked to return the pans as part of that process. Anyone who thinks they may have bought the affected set can contact E Mishan toll-free on 888-230-6698 or check the recall information section on the Granitestone website. The recall number is 26-377.
