Costco has successfully redefined what it means to treat yourself this Easter with a mammoth 10lb chocolate bunny, accompanied by how-to-eat instructions.
It’s understood that a whopping ninety-two percent of Americans who celebrate the Easter season will do so with chocolate and candy, according to statistics from the National Confectioners Association.
While DoorDash survey data suggests that Reese’s Pieces is the most popular Easter candy in the US, there’s a new Costco product that may tickle consumers’ fancy.
The extravagant item is a giant rabbit named Pete, and he is expected to be around for a good time, not a long time.

The supersized chocolate bunny weighs a whopping 10lbs and retails at $139.99 at some stores across the United States, according to reports.
Maud Borup, the manufacturers behind the present, confirmed that Pete is made with fair-trade white, milk, and dark chocolate, and that it contains a total of 151 servings.

“Pete is 10 pounds of smooth, rich chocolate turned centerpiece, basket showstopper and egg-stagram sensation,” the Minnisota company wrote via Instagram.
“First he’s admired, then he’s cracked or cut. A hop-tastic moment that turns a bunny spectacle into shareable bites. One giant buny, a hundred little moments of chocolate.
According to a report by the New York Post, the sweet spectacle comes in at 22,650 calories and that 6.325lbs of it is pure sugar.
Each serving contains 150 calories and 15 grams of sugar, which sounds a little bit better.
Anyone who takes the plunge and purchased Pete the Giant Bunny will recieve a myriad of instructions on how best to eat him.
Confectionery customers are advised to wrap the treat up in a towel before wacking him with a hammer, mallet, or rolling pin.
If you’re not exactly keen on descemating your springtime joy, then the manufacturers say you can use a serated knife on him instead.

For a clean cut, make sure to warm your knife under hot water before slicing into the ears or feet.
Naturally, the semi-solid Easter present has caught shoppers’ attention, with many taking to Reddit to have their say.
“The slice method sounds diabolical,” said one social media user.
A second replied: “Whew, my Costco was selling a giant 4.4lb chocolate bunny for $68.99 and I thought that was excessive!”
“Bunny destruction was the stuff of nightmares for child me, despite the promise of chocolate,” a third remarked.
Someone else added: “I need to hide my mother-in-law's membership card.”
