A video has demonstrated a 'game-changing' trick to help get the most out of a bag of crisps.

Crisps are one of those rare foods which the vast majority of people will like in some form or another.

Whether you're a more old school ready salted or cheese and onion type, prefer spicy flavours, or indulge in the pickled onion Monster Munch type of snack.

It needn't be just potatoes either - crisps could be plantain, beetroot, or those puffed-up starchy ones that no one is quite sure how they're made.

But whether you prefer cheese and onion, salt and vinegar, or are one of those who like prawn cocktail, a video posted on social media has shown that you've actually been eating crisps wrong this whole time.

Surely, you say, there's no wrong way to eat crisps? Technically no, but once you've tried this, there's no going back.

So, what is this trick?

It's simple - instead of opening your bag of crisps at the top, flip it over and open it at the bottom.

This is because a lot of the flavourings and seasonings which make the crisps so delicious tend to gather at the bottom of the bag.

By starting at the bottom, you'll make sure that all that tastiness is spread over your crisps rather than ending up as dust gathering at the bottom, which is no use to anyone.

The video, posted on TikTok by user @brant_new_, included the caption: "I will forever be thankful to the girl on here who said to open your bags upside down because that's where all the flavour has been sitting.

"Chips have never tasted better."

Of course, that's chips in the US and crisps in the UK, though in theory there's no reason you couldn't also give your UK chips (that's 'fries' for our US readers) a similar treatment with seasonings.

If the thought of eating crisps with the bag upside down just feels wrong there is another option.

Instead of flipping the bag over, you could give it a vigorous shake to make sure everything is evenly distributed through the bag.

Of course, some crisps even play into this, with Walkers releasing 'Salt and Shake', adding in shaking up the bag to the fun of tucking in.

The video even caught the attention of the Doritos main account, which commented: "I can confirm this is true babes.”

Many people took to the comments to share their surprise.

One wrote: “I’m gonna give this a go," while a second replied: “I always turn the bag upside down a few times lmao.”

And a third claimed they would “never eat crisps the old way again.”
