The dress code at a steakhouse owned by Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes has one notable exception.
If you had to picture what a restaurant owned by two NFL stars might look like, the chances are you would dream up something not far from 1587 Prime.
Located in Kansas City, home of The Chiefs, the upmarket steakhouse run with Noble 33 features great slabs of protein aged in house, retro classics like shrimp cocktails, lobsters, roasted sea bass, and truffles sprinkled liberally throughout the menu - from the $24 twice-baked potato to the truffle fettuccine.
One look at the menu, with its $345 Wagyu tomahawk, would be enough to send the average earner's credit card provider reaching shakily for their blood pressure medication, and that's before we even get to the wine.

That, along with the opulent and tasteful interior, paints a picture of somewhere you certainly wouldn't rock up to in a t-shirt and jeans.
A note on the website says that the restaurant 'kindly request business casual or dressy evening wear' - which, if you're spending $345 on a steak, why would you not? - but there's one exception.
I'm sure the more perceptive among you may have already twigged a connection with this and the restaurant's owners, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, both NFL stars who play for the Kansas City Chiefs - with the name being a reference to their jersey numbers of 15 and 87.

Donning sportswear to such an establishment would generally be frowned upon, unless you're a tech billionaire or sports star perhaps, and the rules at 1587 Prime reflect this, with a note on the website listing the items of clothing which you should not wear.
These include ballcaps, gym clothes, sports apparal, flip flops, loungewear, or 'clothing with offensive or suggestive language or graphics' - though perhaps something with the suggestive lyrics to Taylor Swift's song 'Wood' might be an exception.
The restaurant even offers to 'provide a complimentary, freshly laundered 1587 Prime polo for your visit' if you turn up in inappropriate clothing.

But 1587 Prime does make allowances sometimes, on certain days.
In a nod to the NFL stars, the dress code states: “Chiefs sports attire is acceptable on game days.”
So there you have it - if you're a Chiefs supporter you can wear your jersey there on game days.

1587 Prime opened September 17, and has since been a regular dining spot for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.
The pair recently posted on social media celebrating a Chiefs victory with dinner at the upmarket steakhouse.
A clip posted to Facebook shows Kelce making his way through the dining room fist-bumping guests, with Swift following a few moments later in front of stunned guests.
