Kansas City Chiefs teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have garnered a tonne of star power over the past few years.
The quarterback and tight end have both been part of a dynastic run for the Chiefs that fell short of a Super Bowl three-peat back in February 2025 when they rampant run was stopped by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mahomes has in recent years become one of the NFL’s most coveted quarterbacks, and Kelce’s exploits on the field have been augmented with his incredibly high-profile relationship.

If you’ve been living under a rock, Kelce is Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, making him one half of a power couple that could even dim the lustre of the Beckhams.
Depending on your persuasion, you might say that Kelce’s playing with a pretty strong hand right now.
Rather than shrinking in the shadow of his billionaire girlfriend, Kelce is exercising his entrepreneurial spirit in collaboration with Mahomes: the pair are opening their very own Kansas-based steakhouse.
The restaurant, 1587 Prime, will open on 17 September 2025, handily coinciding with Mahomes’ 30th birthday.
“Precision in every detail. Power in every bite,” said the restaurant’s Instagram announcement.
“Beginning Wednesday, August 20, at 12 pm CST, you can reserve your table for opening night and beyond. Be among the first to experience Kansas City’s newest steakhouse.”

The video announcement featured the 35-year-old Kelce taste-testing some of the menu alongside Mahomes.
“We wanted to bring something special for the city of Kansas City,” said Mahomes, with Kelce adding: “What’s better than to break food with people over good food, good drinks and a cool vibe?”
“Kansas City loves food,” continues Mahomes in a voiceover as they continue tucking in. “The city’s gonna love it.”
For locals and visitors to Kansas City, you’ll find the restaurant in the Loews Kansas City Hotel. It will feature ‘multi-sensory dining aspects’, but we can only speculate as to what that means. Perhaps you can only get to the bathroom is you can get around a fully-armoured NFL defence?
As for the name, ‘1587’ is gleaned from both players’ shirt numbers.
1587 Prime will cover two floors and over 10,000 square feet of floor space. Private rooms and a massive meat display are also on the agenda.
"[It’s] just another thing that we want to bring to Kansas City, to be able to show our appreciation for the city, knowing how much they love their food and how much they love their football,” Kelce told People.
"Travis and I have become frequent visitors of Noble 33 restaurants in other cities, so it only made sense to bring something special to our own community in Kansas City," Mahomes added in a press release.
