Tom Brady’s latest business venture has ruffled some feathers, with critics slamming the NFL legend for being ‘out of his mind’ following the ‘wild’ product name unveiling.
On Monday (8 June), the 48-year-old announced his second collaboration with GoPuff, an American consumer goods and food delivery company which also operates across the United Kingdom.
In a video uploaded to Instagram, Brady confirmed he definitely wasn’t buying into the celebrity-endorsed seltzer hype and was instead launching a certified organic premium coconut water.
However, when he was asked by a disembodied voice what name he’d gone for, the sports icon remained coy, changing the subject to explain how GoPuff had collected the coconuts from Vietnam.

“When you care about ingredients its kind of a huge deal,” he said whilst making a smoothie.

“When you have a product this good it doesn’t matter what it’s called, okay?”
Despite Brady skirting around the name in the promotional clip, GoPuff has gone ahead and released its name on the internet.
“Certified organic. No added sugars. Premium coconut water by Gopuff & Tom Brady,” the company wrote via Instagram. “Tag a friend who needs a Good Nut.”
Yes, that’s right — Tom Brady’s new coconut water line is called Good Nut.
"I really have no idea how we came up with this," he said.
"I think it was just pitched in a meeting, and next thing you know we all laughed, and next thing you know the cans were all printed."
The cheeky name has divided the masses, with one social media user typing: “Naming a drink 'Good Nut' in the internet era is wild. Nobody checked Urban Dictionary?”
“Yeah he's outta his mind with this one,” reported someone else.
A third user penned: “Imagine asking a store owner if he has GOOD NUT.”
“There are better names, c’mon bruh,” someone else responded, while another simply stated: “Change the name.”

According to Tyler Stewart, Gopuff’s head of marketing, Good Nut came to fruition after Brady started explaining how much he loved drinking chocolate coconut water.
“Blending premium products with brands that are playful, unexpected, and don’t take themselves too seriously has become a huge part of how we build together with Tom,” he told the Boston Globe.
Good Nut is currently available in three flavours: original, sparkling, and chocolate. Each individual can is priced at $3.29.
The Birmingham City owner has since gushed about Good Nut, explaining that coconut water is a dietary staple that he has enjoyed ‘for years’.
“Hydration has always been an important part of my routine, during my playing career and still today,” he explained.
"And while coconut water has been a staple for me, I knew we could take it to a completely different level by teaming up with GoPuff.

“With Good Nut, we focused on keeping the ingredients simple and clean, making sure it’s exactly what I’d want in my own fridge.”
The coconut water collaboration is Brady’s second venture with Gopuff, having launched GOAT gummies - a vegan, organic gummy snack line in Sweet Rush, Sour Burst, and Tropical Fusion flavours.
"Gopuff has a unique ability to understand what consumers want and get great products into their hands in minutes," Brady said to Fox Business.
"We had a great experience working together on GOAT Gummies, and that trust made it easy to team up again on Good Nut.
“From product development to launch, we've been aligned on creating something Gopuff customers would actually want to drink.”
LADbible Group has reached out to Brady's representatives for comment.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner is also the second largest shareholder of NOBULL, a sportswear and wellness company selling whey protein isolate and electrolyte supplements.
The training brand, founded by businessmen Marcus Wilson and Michael Schaeffer, previously absorbed the former quarterback’s health brand, TB12, and his self-titled apparel brand.
Speaking about TB12 ‘winding down’, Brady said earlier this year: "I'm grateful to everyone who believed in the mission.

"TB12 shaped how I see performance and wellness, and I'm proud of what we built together.”
TB12 was founded over a decade ago with the sportsman’s personal trainer, Alex Guerrero.
It sold nutrition manuals promoting an anti-inflammatory diet and emphasised special workout regimens focusing on muscle pliability.
There were also TB12 sports performance and recovery centre facilities in Foxboro and Boylston Street in Boston, where Patriots fans could train like Brady.
CBS News reported that the TB12 program was taught in schools in Massachusetts and Florida after he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.
