Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is weeks away from unveiling his next big project - and no, it’s not on the football field.
The tight end has teamed up with teammate Patrick Mahomes to open 1587 Prime, an upscale steakhouse that promises 'multi-sensory dining' and a menu as bold as their plays on the pitch. But it’s not just Chiefs Kingdom buzzing about the launch - Swifties have clocked a romantic detail baked into the offering that nods directly to Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift.
The steakhouse recently teased one of its upcoming cocktails in an Instagram video, and it’s already stealing the show. The drink is called 'The Alchemy', which just happens to be the name of a track on Swift’s 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department. That album is widely believed to capture moments of her relationship with Kelce, with 'The Alchemy' full of football references and romantic flourishes. "Where’s the trophy? He just comes runnin’ over to me / Touchdown," Swift sings - lines fans have long linked to the Chiefs star.

In the clip, a waiter places the sparkling cocktail before Kelce and Mahomes, announcing: "This is the Alchemy." Kelce grins, replying: "Oh yeah, I see it," before Mahomes takes a sip and nods approvingly. Visually, the cocktail is just as considered as the name: a wine glass garnished with cucumber spirals, citrus peel and delicate red roses - a presentation fit for a pop icon. The restaurant captioned the post: “The cocktails you won’t stop talking about - and for good reason."
Though the exact recipe remains under wraps, fans were quick to connect the dots between the name and Swift’s lyrics, where she describes chemicals hitting her 'like white wine.' The floral, slightly theatrical garnish adds to the sense that this isn’t just a drink - it’s a little love letter.
But 'The Alchemy' is just one highlight on offer at 1587 Prime.
The steakhouse, which officially opens its doors on 17 September 2025, is located in the Loews Kansas City Hotel and stretches across 10,000 square feet over two floors. It promises a 'jaw-dropping' meat display, plush private dining rooms, and interiors that nod to both Mahomes and Kelce’s careers without tipping into sports bar territory. Guests can also expect immersive elements throughout the dining experience, courtesy of Noble 33, the hospitality group collaborating with the duo.

For Kelce, this project is about more than food. Speaking to People, he called it an 'unbelievable opportunity' to give back to a city that has supported him and Mahomes both on and off the field.
"We’re excited to be a part of this journey with Noble 33 to create a one-of-a-kind dining experience," Kelce said.
"And what better place to start than our very own Kansas City."
Of course, all eyes will be on whether Swift joins him at the grand opening. The couple announced their engagement earlier this month, after Kelce proposed in the garden of his $6 million home in Leawood, Kansas. The setting was as cinematic as you’d expect: a wrought iron gazebo surrounded by pink roses and greenery, with Kelce dropping to one knee. Fans now see the launch of 1587 Prime as another chapter in a relationship that’s become part sports fairy-tale, part cultural spectacle.
For Kansas City locals, though, it’s a chance to try a restaurant already buzzing with star power. And if 'The Alchemy' is anything to go by, Kelce’s steakhouse won’t just be a sportsman’s side project - it’ll be one of the city’s hottest tables.
