American actress Anne Hathaway is lining up against the likes of Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson as a serious summer box office darling, having already starred in the likes of Hollywood tentpoles The Odyssey and The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Her latest venture, The End of Oak Street, sees the 43-year-old teaming up with Ewan McGregor in a Jurassic Park riff. It’s already achieved a solid 86 per cent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer.
Ahead of the flick’s release on Friday (14 August). Hathaway went viral for attending the premiere in California whilst heavily pregnant.
She is gearing up to become a mother of three after revealing earlier this year that she and her husband, Adam Shulman, were expecting again.
Advert
And it appears there’s no slowing down as her next project, the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Verity, is slated for a cinematic release in early October.

While she hasn’t detailed any strange pregnancy cravings this time around, the Mother Mary actor previously went viral in 2016 for succumbing to her desires and chowing down on classic chocolate-frosted cupcakes.
After purchasing the item as a post-workout snack, Hathaway - seven months pregnant at the time - decided to throw hell to the wind and eat it as a pre-workout boost.
“I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m just gonna eat the cupcake now, and then I’ll burn it off.’ I start eating the cupcake, only to realise I’m having my photograph taken by a pap.”

Anne Hathaway’s penchant for sweet treats
Moreish cupcakes aren’t the only sweet staples of Hathaway’s diet, with the Academy Award winner once revealing she was a ‘master’ at ordering dessert.
"I am not an innately confident person, so please understand how significant it is when I say I crush ordering dessert,” she once explained on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“So, you know how they say you have to put in 10,000 hours to master something. I have blown past that. I have put so many hours at dessert.”
In The Kelly Clarkson Show stint, the mother-to-be said that the word ‘no’ isn’t in her vocabulary when dessert is on the cards.

"Dessert is not the time to say no... And I believe in combining. Don't be greedy, but you have to have a plan. Here's the thing, everybody really does want to have a bite of most of it.”
She added that a good rule of thumb is if a bread does not have good bread, then it’s probably a good idea to skip the cake. She called this a ‘life truth’.
Why Anne Hathaway ditched vegan diet
Like industry peers Liam Hemsworth and Jenna Ortega, Hathaway is a former vegan who returned to eating animal products.
She initially turned to the plant-based diet while preparing for her role in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, but gave it up whilst eating at a Michelin-starred restaurant with Interstellar co-star Matt Damon.
“So, then I was the only chick, and I’m the vegan and everyone’s just going with the flow. So I asked, ‘Is your fish local?’ and they said: ‘Do you see that fjord [out the window]?’

“I had a piece of salmon, and my brain felt like a computer rebooting,” she told Tatler.
In a further interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she added that she didn’t feel ‘good, healthy or strong’ whilst restricting herself.
According to Women’s Health Australia, the Mother’s Instinct favourite now sticks to a ‘Paleo-style eating regime’ that includes lots of fish and poultry.
In an interview with Vogue, she claimed her ‘favourite meal’ was branzino with potatoes and a really good cooked green.
The actress adopted an ‘oatmeal paste diet’ for a role
In 2012, Hathaway took on the role of Fantine, a young woman in Paris who turns to sex work after she is impregnated and abandoned by a rich student in Les Misérables.
During the final days of her struggles, the former seamstress and destitute factory worker loses her beauty and health before succumbing to tuberculosis.
Hathaway lost a jaw-dropping 25 pounds to accurately portray the emaciated character by embarking on what has been branded ‘the oatmeal paste diet’.
This saw her consuming only two thin squares of ‘dried oatmeal paste’.

“I had to be obsessive about it. The idea was to look near death,” she told Vogue Magazine.
"Looking back on the whole experience — and I don't judge it in any way — it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway.”
It’s not 100 per cent clear what ‘dried oatmeal paste’ is; however, Keri Gans, RD, who is the author of The Small Change Diet, told Fashionista that it may be baked oat squares.
“Totally not surprised that she would lose weight eating this–but it isn’t something I would recommend to others,” she added.
Alcohol isn’t included in Anne Hathaway’s diet
Like Holland, her on-screen son in The Odyssey, Hathaway does not drink alcohol.
She initially vowed to cut alcohol when her ten-year-old son Jonathan was just a toddler.

“I'm going to stop drinking while my son's living in my house just because I don't totally love the way I do it, and he's getting to an age where he really does need me all the time in the morning,” she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
She added that she once experienced a hangover while dropping her child off at school: "That was enough for me. I didn't love that one.”
