Why Ozzy Osbourne fans are petitioning for Chipotle to create a burrito in his honour

Ozzy’s love of burritos is very well-known, but his preferences are surprisingly poorly-understood.

Ozzy Osbourne sadly passed away aged 76 on 22 July 2025, but not before gifting fans with one last send-off at a farewell gig in Birmingham.

The event saw guest appearances from metal acts tracing their lineage back to the pioneering heaviness of Black Sabbath, along with a fantastic performance from Osbourne as he battled through advanced Parkinson’s Disease.

Music isn’t the only world upon which he left his mark, of course, with his frenetic persona being the core of the legendary The Osbournes reality show which aired on MTV.

Not content with conquering music and TV, Ozzy was also one of the world’s most renowned burritos fans.

His love for Mexican food became apparent in a 2003 episode of The Osbournes that saw him visit a Chipotle where he ordered not one but two burritos. The second, of course, was for later that same day.

He was soon awarded the first-ever Chipotle Celebrity Card, entitling him to a free Chipotle every day and a one-off catering service for 50 to the tune of around $20,000 (£15,000). Other musicians like Big Sean, Olivia Rodrigo, and Diplo have been awarded the card since, and regular punters can put in an application for one if they’re feeling lucky.

Since the metal legend’s sad passing, fans have begun petitioning Chipotle to honour him with an Ozzy-inspired burrito.

Over 7,000 fans have signed the LoudWire petition to that effect already.

“In the days following his death, countless Ozzy fans took to social media to share photos of Chipotle burritos they ordered and ate in his honor,” said petition starter Lauryn Schaffner.

“Chipotle should create a signature burrito called ‘The Ozzy’ to celebrate his immense love for the food chain."

His appearance at a Chipotle in The Osbournes is a legendary moment.

“Twice a day, I am Burrito Man,” Ozzy said in the viral clip. “This is my favourite, my favourite, favourite, favourite, burrito joint.”

While fans are clamouring for Chipotle to pay a menu-based tribute to the legendary Black Sabbath frontman, his preferred burrito is something of a mystery.

“At this time, we don't know what Ozzy's typical order was,” Schaffner wrote on the petition description. “But if anyone in his camp knows and is willing to share, please get in touch!”

Quick suggestion: why not rename the Chipotle Celebrity Card to something like ‘The Ozzy Osbourne Pass’? Besides a permanent burrito addition to the Chipotle menu, what better way to immortalise his burrito fame?
