The godfather of metal, star of one of the greatest reality shows of all time, and bona fide Iron Man, Ozzy Osbourne, sadly passed away on 22 July 2025 at 76.
His death followed shortly after a farewell gig in Birmingham featuring metal stars who followed in Black Sabbath’s pioneering footsteps, with the legendary rocker battling through advanced Parkinson’s Disease to give fans one last hurrah.
The mark he left on music will echo through the ages, but it wasn’t the only place where he left his mark.

His music legacy aside, Ozzy was a noted burrito fan.
Episode six of the second season of MTV's The Osbournes saw him transfixed by a Chipotle worker preparing and wrapping one of the many burritos he saw off over his lifetime, and he was later honoured by the Mexican fast food joint with a special commendation.
“This is my favourite, my favourite, favourite, favourite, burrito joint this is,” he said in the episode before ordering a second, saying he was stocking up for another burrito later in the day.
He was asked how many he eats during the 2003 episode, to which he said: “Twice a day, I am Burrito Man.”
Sharon Osbourne, an iconic star in her own right, said: “Your father can’t eat one burrito, he has to have 900 burritos.”
To commemorate his famous love for the Mexican dish, Chipotle awarded him with the very first Celebrity Card.

Since it was first doled out to Ozzy, the Celebrity Card has been given to various other musicians, athletes and celebrities in the following 20 years.
Rapper Big Sean and DJ Diplo are a couple of other reported card holders.
Even regular customers can get their hands on one if they apply, although you’ll need to make a pretty special case to get one.
The cards entitle their holders to a free meal at Chipotle every day, and they can also make a one-off catering order for up to 50 people with a value of around $20,000 (£15,000).

“In 2003, a musician turned television star raved about Chipotle on his family's reality television show, prompting Chipotle to issue its first-ever Celebrity Card,” a Chipotle source told People.
Announcing his death, the Osbourne family said in a statement: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
This week the family joined fans in paying an emotional farewell to the heavy metal star during a procession in Birmingham.
Rest in peace to one of the all-time greats.
