Martha Stewart is apparently the next American celebrity to receive the biopic treatment, with a two-time Oscar winner reportedly poised to step into the homemaker’s shoes.

A culinary queen, a lifestyle guru, and the ultimate American tastemaker: the 84-year-old has seemingly done it all since skyrocketing to fame in the 1980s.

Before embarking on her illustrious media career, Stewart appeared in magazines and TV commercials before taking up a role as a Wall Street stockbroker.

Following the devestating market collapse in 1974, the mother-of-one began a catering business in Connecticut, later building it into a high-end service before expanding into a vast media and merchandising empire.

In 1990, Martha Stweart Living launched as a magazine, and three years later it became a hit television show, running up until 2004.

A month after its cancellation, the businesswoman was incarcerated at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia following conviction for charges related to a 2001 stock sale.

After five months behind bars, she was home-bound for another five before being put on two years probation.

Since then, Stewart has launched an unlikely friendship with Snoop Dogg following The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber and **most recently appeared as an NBC Olympic Games correspondent, and is now getting her own biopic.

According to Variety, the New Jersey icon spoke about the upcoming film at the New York gala screening of Brunello: The Gracious Visionary.

She explained to the publication that she was ‘hearing rumours’ that something was already in the works with Australian actress Cate Blanchett at the helm.

She claimed that the film’s working title was Good Thing, referring to her iconic catchphrase: ‘It’s a good thing’.

The outlet wrote that the upcoming project has been written by Ricky Tollman and will be produced by Blanchett and Coco Francini of Dirty Films, and Randy Manis and Neil Dodson.

Zola and Lemon director Janicza Bravo is said to be leading the movie.

Last year, Stewart made headlines with the ‘unhinged’ way she eats bagels.

The reaction arrived when she claimed she enjoyed cutting it down and tearing it into small pieces, topping each bite individually with flavored or unflavored cream cheese.

“Always satisfied never too full,” she claimed via Instagram.

Following the backlash, Stewart defended her bagel-eating decision, writing: “CAN’T ANYONE TAKE A JOKE?????? YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!!!! anyway it’s very satisfying to eat a bagel like this.”

In summer 2025, the media mogul commented on Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle brand, AsEver.

In conversation with Yahoo Lifestyle, she said: “Meghan, I don't really know very well, and I hope she knows what she's talking about.

“Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important.”
