Fans of Justin and Hailey Bieber have praised the couple after they were joined on a food-orientated date night by a sushi chef.

According to a 2019 study, cooking with your significant other can improve your bond, deepen connection, and can create a platform for communication and interpersonal interaction.

One couple who’ve recently teamed up in the kitchen is the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker and the Rhode Beauty founder, whom said ‘I do’ in September 2019.

On Wednesday 17 December, Justin revealed he and his wife had taken part in a ‘sushi date night’, inviting a private chef into their home to help them prepare the delicacies.

Uploading a time lapsed video to Instagram, the 31-year-old was guided how to roll a hand roll, while Hailey, 29, was shown by the professional how to successfully cut the raw fish.

In another clip, the couple could be seen smiling, chatting, and tasting their creations after dipping them into what appeared to be soy sauce.

“Sushi cheffin date night,” the ‘Peaches’ singer wrote in the clip’s caption.

Fans have been praising the celebrity pair, with one Instagram user writing: “Wait so fun saving this idea for myself and my future man.”

“Okay I love this,” said someone else.

A third viewer commented: “That's cute....if I had money I would so do that.”

This isn’t the first time that the Biebers have given fans a sneak peek into their kitchen, with Hailey sharing a video of her making cinnamon rolls for Thanksgiving last month.

She captioned a picture of the baked goods ‘Mommy is on cinnamon roll duty,’ and later shared a second batch she'd made.

In November 2020, she took to Instagram again, this time to share that she’d cooked a turkey for her famous family for the first time.

“1st time turkey maker (no it’s not burnt). Happy Thanksgiving,” the mother-of-one typed.

Six months earlier, the duo whipped up bowls of gluten-free pasta and baked gluten-free triple chocolate chunk cookies together, as seen in an episode of their Facebook Watch series, The Biebers on Watch.

Other celebrities who’ve previously shared their love for cooking are Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco.

In September 2024, the Only Murders in the Building actor hosted a virtual event with Instagram for her brand, Rare Beauty, where she revealed their favourite thing was sharing home cooked meals with friends and family.

“One of the things I'm doing, for example, is we're making a bunch of tamales, which is one of my favorites, and we're going to be giving them to a bunch of random friends,” she confessed.

"We're just gonna randomly do that one day and that's a long process but it's so fun. We're gonna listen to music and have a drink and make tamales and go give it to our friends.”

During the coronavirus pandemic, actress Amy Schumer and her then-husband Chris Fischer cooked together weekly.

They filmed their culinary explorations for the Food Network show, Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, which aired in May 2020.
