Gordon Ramsay has marked another major milestone in his personal life, celebrating 29 years of marriage to his wife Tana with a heartfelt tribute that’s a far cry from his famously fiery on-screen persona.
The chef, restaurateur, and TV broadcaster took to Instagram on Sunday 21 December, to honour nearly three decades with his wife, sharing a series of throwback photos from their wedding day alongside more recent snaps of the pair together.
The social media post offered fans a glimpse into a much softer side of Ramsay, away from the shouting kitchens and high-pressure service.
Alongside the images, Ramsay kept things simple but emotional. He wrote: “29yrs ago I got to marry my best friend.”

He followed it with: “What a journey and thank you. Love you so much.”

The couple tied the knot in December 1996 and have gone on to build both a family and a life that’s largely remained solid despite Ramsay’s demanding career and near-constant presence on television screens around the world. Over the years, Tana has been a steady presence by his side, whether attending red carpet events or supporting him behind the scenes.
The pair first met at a New Year’s Eve party when Tana was in her 20s. At the time, she famously wasn’t entirely won over, once describing Ramsay as ‘a complete arrogant arse’, as reported by People.

Despite the rocky first impression, the two later reconnected through mutual friends, hit it off, and eventually began dating before marrying a few years later.

Together, Gordon and Tana share six children, making for a famously busy household. Their eldest daughter Megan, was born in 1998, followed by twins Holly and Jack in 1999, and daughter Matilda, better known as Tilly, in 2001 — who has been following in her father’s footsteps as a chef herself.
After experiencing a miscarriage in 2016, the couple welcomed son Oscar in 2019 and their youngest child, Jesse, in 2023.

There was a particularly controversial decision Tana made when it came to the birth of her children, but it’s still a very loving family all the same.
Speaking previously about the secret to their long-lasting marriage, Ramsay has stressed the importance of making time for each other, even with packed schedules. He said: “Date nights are crucial, whether it’s the cinema, whether it’s going out for a drive. We have a little time, but it’s quality, and so that is really important.”
