Skiing can be somewhat affordable if you choose a budget resort in a less-popular neck of the woods but, let’s face it, very few people hit the slopes without coughing up a fair chunk of cash.
With that in mind, a dinner bill would have to be pretty outrageous to make a skier’s eyes water, especially if they were holidaying in the world-famous and expensive Colorado resort town of Aspen.
That was certainly the case for one holidaymaker. The Aspen tourist posted a picture of his 10-inch pizza on Reddit, asking: "Anyone wanna guess how much two 10” pizzas delivered in Aspen cost?"
Before we get into the price, get a load of this pizza.

An absolute state. Papa John would never.
It’s tiny, its toppings are everywhere and nowhere, it’s overcooked, and it looks like it made its way to the customer in a rally driver’s glove box.
So, with all those hallmarks of quality in mind, what do you reckon it cost this poor chap? At the time of writing, the GBP to USD conversion rate is £1 to $1.30, so do factor that into your guess.
Oh, and there were two of them, not that it helps to justify the overall cost.
"Okay y’all. Here’s the deal," the afflicted skier wrote.
"$91.66 including tip.”
Mamma mia! And if you think that’s an insane price for a pair of pizzas you wouldn’t order at 3am whilst sloshed in a kebab house, hold tight for the next revelation.
“The kicker was getting a text after the order that said credit cards are authorized for a margin above the total and will be settled accurately at the close of business.
"Checking my bank account, I was charged $137.66. No picture of the other pizza but it was, obviously, not good either."
It’s fair to assume your guess was a little short of that insane total.

Redditors were suitably aghast.
"What the hell, can you ask your card company for a chargeback or something?” said one. “This seems like a complete scam."
Another said: "There should be a helicopter involved for that bulls**t."
"I make pizzas at an Italian fine dining restaurant,” said a third. “The most expensive pizza we sell costs 25 bucks, cuz, you know, it's pizza. Dough, sauce and cheese should never be that expensive."
Another asked a pertinent question: "Bro, WHY TF DID YOU FINALIZE BUYING IT. I would literally rather skip 2 meals than do that s**t."
"This may be one of the biggest mistakes of my life,” explained the victim. “I honestly don’t have a good answer for you other than, we had avoided eating all week because of the price.
"I come to you all as the dunce. I am dumb boy and did bad. Please don’t be like me."
Do: expect a trip to Aspen to cost you an absolute bomb.
Don’t: just accept every $137.66 pair of pizzas you get sent.
