
Although McDonald’s has been keeping things spicy this season, its latest limited-edition launch might just be the most exciting addition to hit menus this year.
The chain has long been known for its creative takes on sauces, from the iconic Sweet ‘N Sour to the cult-favourite Big Mac Sauce, but this new drop combines two of the most legendary flavours in fast food history.
While fans across the US have been speculating on what McDonald’s might do next, whispers began circulating in October about something new, something tangy, and something just a little bit fiery. By early November, the news was confirmed, and taste buds everywhere started tingling in anticipation.

Now, for a limited time only, McDonald’s has introduced the Buffalo Ranch Sauce: a daring blend that brings together the zesty spice of classic buffalo with the cool creaminess of ranch. Described by McDonald’s as ‘fiery spice and cool creaminess ride together for a tangy flavour rodeo’, it’s the kind of combination that feels instantly familiar yet completely fresh.
The sauce officially debuted nationwide on 3 November 2025, launching alongside a new lineup of chicken-focused items at the fast food giant that are designed to showcase its full flavour.
For instance, the Buffalo Ranch Snack Wrap features a crispy McCrispy Strip, shredded lettuce, cheese, and a generous drizzle of the new sauce for $2.99. There’s also the Bacon Buffalo Ranch McCrispy, stacked with applewood smoked bacon, crinkle-cut pickles, and the sauce on a toasted potato roll, while the Deluxe version adds shredded lettuce and Roma tomatoes.
For those who prefer to keep things simple, McCrispy Strips can also be ordered with a Buffalo Ranch dip cup on the side.

Also, according to People, the new sauce is ‘equal parts bold and smooth’, starting with tangy sweetness and finishing with ‘a gentle, savoury heat’.
It’s designed to pair perfectly with McDonald’s signature chicken items, or, if you fancy, to drizzle or dip over just about anything on the menu.

Food writer Sean Abrams, reviewing the launch for Delish, said: “The sauce slaps. It’s legitimately spicy for fast food and feels as though it'd be versatile well beyond just chicken.”

He added: “Garlic and onion are very prominent and pop, buttermilk cools, and the heat lingers just enough that I didn't need a water break.” Abrams went on to call the Buffalo Ranch Snack Wrap the ‘best sauce-to-bite ratio’, while naming the Bacon Buffalo Ranch McCrispy the ‘most craveable sandwich’.
With 100 calories per cup and notes of buttermilk, garlic, onion, and vinegar, the new sauce blends punch and creaminess in true McDonald’s style.
