If you've not tried matcha yet, have you been hiding under a rock?!

For those unfamiliar with the green flavour that has been everywhere this year, matcha is a bright green powder made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It's essentially dried and ground down into a fine powder, which is then added to everything from chocolate to lattes and milkshakes. It's said to be packed full of nutrients, including antioxidants and caffeine.

Now the 'first ever' matcha advent calendar is being released again after its success last year, and people are already going wild for it in the lead up to Christmas.

The Bird & Blend Tea Co. Matcha Advent Calendar is said to be 'hand packed with love' and contains the 'tastiest limited edition flavours & fan faves in mini tins'.

"This Matcha Advent Calendar is the perfect way for both newbies and matcha lovers to count down to Christmas Day," Bird & Blend Tea Co. says, billing it as the 'ONLY Matcha Advent Calendar' on the market.

The calendar has 24 treats for the lead up to Christmas Day, with matcha fans promised to be able to try out 'unique and delicious magical flavours'.

Alongside the typical matcha, flavours include Toasted Marshmallow & Butterscotch, plus other limited edition flavours, including Mince Pie, Eggnog and Candy Cane.

The advent calendar is also excellent value for money, with every flavour coming in its own resealable tin containing enough matcha for two cups per tin and £80 worth of the green powder included.

It's already winning over fans, with one person writing in an online review: "24 different flavoured matchas with at least 2 spoons in each! Can't wait until December the 1st!"

Another fan got it last year and left a glowing review as they posted: "This is the first year I've ever even considered having an advent calendar filled with something that isn't chocolate...I love flavoured matcha so I took the plunge and bought this, but I was a bit dubious about whether it would be as satisfying. Turns out I didn't need to be worried, this calendar is so fab! I love that there is a different flavour everyday, with lots of limited edition ones - and two servings a day means I get to have them all again in the new year.

"My only gripe is the packaging which I believe a few other people have mentioned in their reviews too - I've had the glued edges come loose and matcha pots come out of place, so I've had to keep it laid flat rather than propped upright as it should be. Not the end of the world but it is a shame, especially given how much it cost. Fix this for next year and it'll be a definite 5 stars from me!"

"This is my second year getting the Matcha Advent Calendar! I loved it so much last year that I had to get it again this year! So pleased to be getting some of my favourite limited edition flavours from this year in this calendar!" said a third.

The Matcha Advent Calendar is available for £55, and is available to buy online via the Bird & Blend website & in-store.
